What a delightful surprise La Plaza was for us! We needed dinner on our trip across southern Minnesota and this just happened to be in the right place at the right time. The Thursday night margarita special was worth the trip alone! And the food was out of this world good. What put it over the top is that purely festive Mexican decor and vibe. Put this restaurant in the middle of any southwestern United States city, and it might just beat the famous places.

If you are Hispanic, I don't recommend coming here, unless you want to be treated as lower than others, it feels like the waiters ignore you and don't pay attention to you unless you are white, me and my family were treated terribly. Overall the food was hard, chewy, and bland, in general just don't visit this place. Also they had no excuse to treat us terribly as it was not busy. This was my experience from 2 years ago, and from what I have been told this is still happening to this day.

I've always loved the food here. I wanted to host a local event, and La Plaza was the first place I thought of. So glad they were able to accommodate all 30 of us! The service was great, as usual, and the food was amazing. We'll meet here again for sure!
My daughter passed away 😭 double homicide in hanska MN we ate there 3 weeks before very very special place for us they are generous compassionate donated for the fundraiser all around good place to eat I sincerely suggested if you're in madelia you will not be displeased

We were just passing through and stumbled on this place, and wow, what a gem. I ordered the Pollo Popeye and it was packed with flavor. The chicken was sliced thin, which in my opinion is the absolute best way to serve it. Every bite was delicious.
The service was great and the atmosphere honestly made me feel like I was back in Mexico on vacation. If you’re anywhere nearby, it’s worth the stop.

We had La Plaza F!esta catering at our wedding and it was absolutely amazing! The food was fresh, flavorful, and a huge hit with all of our guests. Everything was served hot, well-organized, and beautifully presented. The staff was friendly, professional, and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the night. They even drove through a snowstorm to make sure everything arrived on time, which truly meant so much to us. It was the perfect choice for our wedding and we couldn’t have been happier. Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious food and exceptional service!
