The $75 t-bone was equal to a $20 Outback steak. I had to eat in tiny bits to get it down. I had already sent one steak back because it was over cooked and I was basically forced to eat the second steak because everyone in my party was close to finishing their meals. There’s a sign in the bathroom that they need cooks for $16 per hour…I suppose this says it all; not a place to gamble on a $75 steak.
Highly recommend the Salmon BLT sandwich! An excellent thick piece of fresh salmon, well seasoned but not overpowering, cooked just enough to be juicy and flaky. Also enjoyed the friendly attentive wait staff.
Had a couple of drinks and a sandwich. Drinks were good. Sandwich was not the quality, taste or presentation i would expect from a restaurant like this. Greasy, sloppy and little meat. And, you get charged for a little extra ketchup and mustard. $1.50 added to bill for these. Really? Charge for condiments? Ridiculous and tacky. Service was average at best. They weren't busy for a weekend night. Tried to get into 3 other restaurants first, but all booked. Nope. Not again.
Had a business dinner and was impressed with the level of service and the atmosphere of the restaurant. Food was what you'd expect from an establishment of this caliber. Cheese curds as an appetizer were very good and tasty. Had the Chicken Pot Pie and would recommend it. Everyone else's food was well liked.
good service (Josh), the Sirloin was very good, but the green beans were raw. It was fully booked, lot of background noise
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Each of our 8 diners, was more than satisfied! Highly recommend the bourbon glazed salmon.
The positives: nice space, good drinks, good desserts. The negatives: entirely mediocre food, overpriced for what you get, limited vegetarian options. This is a place I go to for drinks and appetizers or desserts with friends but not a place I go to if I actually want to enjoy a meal.
I recently tried this place after two Locals gave me the thumbs up as one of the better Mankato eateries. I'd called several days in advance for a reservation and mentioned it was a birthday celebration and preferred a quiet table setting. Upon arrival, the hostess tried to initially give us a high table and chairs adjacent to the bar in sort of a noisy, active area. I requested a switch to a visibly empty booth by a window and was eventually accommodated after some back and forth discussion. Our server was generally efficient and cordial but not unusually pleasant or personable. We like the soup offering, the main courses ordered were just average. The dessert we ordered was above average. The atmosphere and overall decor and fixtures at the restaurant were pleasant but nothing really special. The bottom line for me was that it was an average visit with respect to quality, but a somewhat below average quality/value proposition given the dollars spent. I wouldn't say I'd never return but would likely try alternative Mankato food offerings on a subsequent visit to town.
The chicken pot pie was amazing. A must if you visit. Will definitely be back. The waitress was attentive and the atmosphere was nice.
“F” for first time visit. Rude hostess who would not honor reservations. Stated kitchen was short staffed and then sat people after us. Difficult to plan a birthday dinner or other celebration at this place.

I went here for my anniversary dinner. It is probably the most upscale restaurant in Mankato. We had the cheese curds which were fantastic. I ordered the Parmesan Crusted Halibut with green beans and mashed potatoes which were all excellent. I also got a Loaded Bloody Mary and a Ginger Lime Whisky Sour which were both very good. The food is god but expect to pay more as this is a more upscale restaurant. I would return here again for a special occasion.
Went on a Saturday night with friends. Never been before & don't think I will go back. Service was horrible, I had a very hard time leaving the tip that I did, but felt bad for the waitress who was clearly overwhemed. Comments from the table? Could have gone to Chipotle or Noodles instead. Very sad compared to other Mankato restaurants of finer dining.
We have found a new favorite Sunday brunch spot in Mankato. They have a loaded bloody which is great, and on Sundays they have a "weekender special" which is a free classic breakfast with the purchase of the weekender bloody mary. We also ordered the french toast for our children and that was also delicious!
The ambience was very nice here. They have very good cheese curds. The other food was okay pretty average. Not bad not good but okay.
My husband and I went to Number 4 on a date night. Everything was great, the cheese curds were so good, a different take on cheese curds! They were accommodating with some switches to our order. We also enjoyed the Moscow mules.
