This place is really special. Simple menu, homemade pies and that old school vibe. one of my favorites was the milkshakes made with a 50s mixer with real ice cream and milk served in a tin cup. one of the best things they had to offer was...when you went there you have absolutely zero cell phone service. which made people conversate with those around them. truly a special place. a step back in time.

It was the year 2011 and someone told the friends I was hanging with that we needed to go camping at the Rapidan Dam. That’s exactly what we did! Oh man, who knew that would be the start of many memories! Since that time, I have gone on multiple occasions. I am not a pie eater normally, but something about the pies at Rapidan Dam Store make them truly out of this world good! The food is down to earth home cooking. The “store” is very small to give the homely feeling. The family that runs it is unbelievably kind! Don’t forget to bring cash! This is an old-fashioned place.
As I am typing this recommendation, a natural disaster is occurring and this family has lost their home because of it. Their home of many decades and many generations! The store is now at risk. My thoughts and prayers are with this family. I will be back to help support any way possible!

Awesome little old cafe. An old farm house turned burger restaurant. Staff is super friendly. Awesome burgers, fries, onion rings and pies. Can't wait to go back. Cool nick nacks all over the place. Wall mounted pay phone for those of us who remember them. Nice little park across the parking lot to eat our lunch.

A little off the main drag but not far and very worth it! Small little place, staff does an amazing job of putting out a ton of food. Only a few tables inside but there's a park that has tables too. Cute spot next to the river and the dam. Amazing food - very fresh and tasty. Very reasonable prices. Bring cash - no cards accepted. No wifi (not a complaint - nice to be unplugged at such a beautiful location) and their telephone is an old fashion pay phone. Plenty parking. Only downside is it's not closer to home ?
Our first time. Our burgers were delicious. But the pie selection was very limited because of the publicity about the cafe recently on a local tv channel, nice weather, and the cafe is closing for the season at end of October. We had slices of Sour Cream Raspberry and Candy Apple pies.

My friend and I each had a burger. Dry tasteless. Not a large burger either, but neither of us finished it. The pie was ok. Not very exciting. We really wanted to like this place because the people were so nice. Sad to say it fell short of the other ratings. Wish their menu was bigger, and their burger had flavor, and was juicy.

Exactly as we pictured it! Kind of Fried Green Tomatoes meets 50's diner vibe. Service was a little slow but it was so worth it! Our group had the chicken salad sandwich (delicious), a cheeseburger and a grilled chicken sandwich.... all were great! Dessert was Coconut Cream, Strawberry Cream and Pumpkin Crunch pie slices..... sooooooo good! We'll be back!
