Tandem has been my go to for years! They treat you like a friend and their sandwiches are excellent!

Overall it's a fine establishment, the food is good and there is a nice variety. I normally don't leave reviews, but after experiencing the service there numerous times now, I felt like I needed to. It's difficult to get service there - they will see you and not one out of the 5 or 6 people behind the counter will welcome you or make it known that you are there. They will see you, look you in the eye, but ignore you. I have gone to ordering online to try to save time and some of the awkwardness, but even then, I stand at the check out, have several employees look at me, and only after too much time has passed, someone will ask what I want.Wheelchair accessibility: This is not an accessible space.

asked my friend if they wanted a bagel. they said "no." I filled up with "I was thinking of making a tandem run." they lit up and said "oh! tandem?! I love tandem bagels!" so we ordered our bagels on-line and the only reason I had to wait was because I was early for our pickup time. we ❤️ tandem bagels!

Haven't visited this place in 5 years and I STILL think about their breakfast bagel sandwiches. Fantastic.

Decent Bagels, Not Quite New York Quality I recently tried this bagel place, and while it's not exactly a New York bagel experience, it does the job if you're really craving a bagel. The flavor was a bit lackluster, I get the concept. However, if you're in the area and desperate for a bagel fix, this place might suffice.

Super cool place in downtown Mankato. The kid and I were craving bagels on a road trip home and found this place. He did a breakfast bagel and I did a healthy bagel. Prices were good. Food was great. Service was even better.

Love the food, but employees are always rude and act inconvenienced. Not a welcoming environment. I've come in on 4 occasions and it doesn't matter who's behind the counter, the attitudes are the same. I'll take my business to the other local shops that don't act like a customer is an inconvenience. Reading reviews this seems to be an issue you've had for years being rude to customers.

Awkward way to order, but nice staff. Very chewy bagel, nothing like NYC Jewish bagels. The cream cheese and scallions had bacon included, very light on flavor. Will not order again.

I always feel the service is subpar . They are usually short and not very friendly . Bagels are fantastic but usually limited options even early in the day. Menu is a tad hard to read

Great food and coffee but be prepared for a wait. I'm hoping for a second location to open!

I was in Mankato for a conference and the first morning we were subjected to convention center coffee which could be argued was a loose interpretation of coffee, left my group of convention comrades jonesing for the real thing. Tandem coffee and bagels was the closest spot in walking distance to the convention center. We promptly filed in and ordered our coffee drug of choice. The staff worked quickly given the long line of coffee and bagel orders. It was impressive given the tight timeline we were on and there were 6 of us in addition to a robust morning of locals present. I ordered a hot Miel with oat milk, it was delicious. Some of us had bagels and one of us had their vegan scone, all were delicious. Their homemade cream cheese is creative and different. The vegan pastry option and milk alternatives was a lifesaver for our dear friend who has an allergy to milk- a real allergy, the Epi pen kind of allergy and not the get gas and take a lactaid version.. She was able to have something for breakfast that kept her alive and fueled in more ways than one. All in all, the coffee was good, the prices were reasonable and didn't feel like the assault on bank accounts like so many of the big chain monsters. Their pastry's are beautiful, the alternative options and deviation from mainstream basics was greatly appreciated. We'll be back tomorrow morning! Hit this spot up and tip them with the appreciation they deserve for keeping a small business up and running and compensating staff well enough that they don't go work for Dunkin Donuts down the road.
