My spouse and I dined there for the first time last night and it was, by far, the worst and most overpriced meal I’ve ever had. The garlic fries arrived cold and were doused with canned, cold chopped garlic. The tacos and quesadilla, as well as the wild rice chicken soup weren’t even room temperature but stone cold. We mentioned this to the server, who spoke to her manager, and rather than taking these items off our bill, merely took 20% off each one. The bill, plus tip, was over $100. Avoid this place and go to Arby’s instead.

I enjoy myself every time I'm at Tave on the Ave! The Bahn Mi bowl with steak is a go-to for me and they have a lovely selection of whiskeys. The service is always friendly and attentive! I would highly recommend stopping here if you're in the area and looking for a low-key, but enjoyable dinner/drinks experience. Thank you!

We were sat at a table by the host, he was friendly. We were not acknowledged by any of the four waiters that went by our table, we left to eat somewhere else.

After spending a gorgeous MN Fall day outside working on deck reno project, wanted to treat gen contractor right, with good food, drinks & Gopher’s fb game.Historically left positive reviews bc Tav is a great place to gather food, drinks & sport spectator, even when it’s slammed.Tonite wrong on so many levels. Bartender’s do not know how to make cocktail(s) not on Tav’s bevie menu.Ordered a CO Bulldog, server doesn’t know what’s in it - as former bar & server, expl’d drink ingredients & also rec Google if bartender doesn’t know either. Drink arrives, appears to have a whipped topping or ‘creamer’ and top of drink looks weird, an oily appearance. Used a straw to blend in ‘cream’ but doesn’t blend in - instead separates from rest of drink. Took 2 sips & it’s awful,
mix of watered down bad cream & flat Coke. No booze. Server shows up & kindly let her know & decided to dumb down 2nd order to a White Russian. Who can screw up 3 ingredients? White (not) Russian arrives, on rocks (normal) inside a small lowball (Tav’s shot) glass. We look at that drink & laughed, it’s either the same drink sent back inside a Tav shot glass or bartender thinks a Mudslide shot on the rocks is same as White Russian? I smiled at the very nice apologetic server & said no thanks & sent that back. She told me maybe the 1st drink could be Mgr comped. 1 of 2 $8 drinks were ‘Mgr comped’ - (figured) & I drank water. Food arrives, by runner, server checks within 5 min of food arrival, at that point I am holding back due to disappointing drink sitz, idc what Super Fries look like as long as they taste good! Super Fries 1st impression, cheese topping appears over cooked bc melted cheese is orange & brown & plate edging cheese is burnt to the plate. Expecting food on top to be hot - I took my 1st big bite off the side & the fries are cold?!?! Not even room temp but cold. I dig into top of Super Fries, cheese, tomatoes, bacon & shallots. All the ingredients warm-ish, not hot, and saturated in seasoning, so much that the Super Fries ingredients; tomatoes, bacon bits & shallots flavor’s are overpowered by seasoning. I pulled off all ingredients & ate a few fries w/ ketchup.Noticed fries on Gen contractor plate & asked if my hype about Super Fries & disappointment wrecked their fries? Didn’t eat entrees side fries bc could tell the frying oil needed to be changed bc fries taste like ‘old fish oil’”. We waited for 35 min, our server finally shows up. She sees plates w/half eaten food & my plate is full of fries, almost full plate of wasted food + empty water glasses….she asks “ready for check?” She knew things were bad & didn’t ask us anything or send a mgr our way. But I’m relieved had this experience tonite bc next wk hosting out of state fam visit & historically Tav’s been our go to for fam gatherings to tune of $350-$600 tab which I know bc I pick up the tab & always well worth $. Not tonite. My measly $60 tab waste of money & time. Come on Tav, you’re way better, clearly bartender no training, or clearly disinterested in striving to provide a Tav good tasting drink experience. But tonite was my lesson learned. Before bringing guests again, will provide warning, stick with beer & skip fired food.

We were promptly sat. Our server was very nice. We had seen a 25oz Long Island tea on the online menu and we were excited to try it. The first one came out and was okay. We ordered coconut chicken, loaded fries, chicken wing bone in, a bourbon burger, pulled pork tacos and fish tacos and another round of the Long Island teas. The drinks came back and one was dark and the other see through. One drink was completely just sweet and sours or lemonade and the other was mostly cola of some sort and sweet and sour. We didnt finish either one and I ordered a beer. The food came out. The coconut chicken was not anything special and didn’t taste like coconut. The onion rights that came with the chicken was from a bag. The fries were okay, the chicken wings had sat under the heat lamp for a long time and the sauce if it had any was dried. The burger had absolutely no flavor at all and that is hard to do with a BOURBON BURGER. The fish tacos were cold and the fish was somehow chopped up or it looks like mash somehow, the beans and rice that came with it were the worst I’ve ever seen and the beans were dry and flavored with taco seasoning maybe? The pork tacos were unimpressive. At least the beer was cold. None of us finish our drinks or meals. When our awesome server asked us if we needed boxes, we said no thank you just the check please. She questioned us about the food and we told her was I had previously stated. A manager of some sort had came out and apologized about the food and gave us a voucher for a free entree for a chance to get us back. The bill total was $178. $52 of it being for the Long Island teas. We left the voucher on the table and will not be back. We heard they had good food and maybe it was an off night for food and drinks but the visit was so bad that we will never return. We are here for work and from out of town so maybe that was good food for a local standard but I find it hard to believe that anyone would say it’s good food.

Classic Midwest bar. Plenty of TVs to watch the game. Good food. Leave a little room for the warm toffee bundt cake desert.

This is consistently a quality, delicious and comfortable place for lunch! Great Burrito Bowl and Lettuce Wraps entrees. The Servers, although very busy, are friendly, efficient and helpful.

Very kind, friendly, and attentive staff and a fun atmosphere. The menu has a nice variety of food items, including some gluten free choices. This was important for my sister and niece, who have celiac disease.
