Horrible! Don’t waste your time. Service was terrible. It took 10 mins to get water. Finally when the person came over to pour us water she had blood on her finger. She also was working in the kitchen! The couple next to us sent back their chicken. They said it’s was not cooked enough and was rubbery. Between the poor service, the blood and the rubbery chicken at $33.00 we left!

Went here on valentine’s day, it was extremely busy. Regardless our server Sam was delightful! She was so attentive and had wonderful recommendations. The food was phenomenal and unique. I would recommend anyone who loves adventurous food to come here, there’s clearly a passion for creating exciting flavors.

The first time I came to Änna’s, I came for brunch, and had the best little side salad with mustard vinaigrette of my life and a very nice bacon and broccoli mini-quiche. The latte was also truly excellent; good baristas are behind the bar. I will take any opportunity to return to Änna’s for brunch ANYTIME. Four stars for the cafe! The second time I visited was for dinner. I will admit, I’ve been putting off coming for dinner because as a very decent home cook, the limited menu made me leery that there wasn’t anything to order that I couldn’t make equally well at home, myself, for less. A strip steak with truffle mashed potatoes and broccolini for under $40 was finally what brought me in. The house salad I had beforehand is what stole the show—anything with creamy goat cheese and candied pecans is a sure-shot winner in my book, and their lettuce is so fresh and tender! Pretty sure the dressing is homemade, and has ingredients which may change by the season and/or chef’s whims, which is fun. I would eat a mixing bowl full of that salad and call it a meal, HAPPILY.The steak, it has to be said, had great flavor. While it may not be seared crisp on the outside—which is what I look for in my steaks—it has a beautiful beef-y flavor that can’t be ignored. The broccolini was perfectly cooked, sweet yet earthy, and tender. The mashed potatoes, however…I will eat my hat if they’re not instant-made from a box. The graininess was a tell-tale giveaway. And not a hint of truffle (as promised) to be found. Disappointing. Equally disappointing was the ciabatta, which was neither a real ciabatta (crumb structure was way too dense and dry) nor came with butter as I’m 95% sure the menu said it did. The 20 minute drive home was spent incredulously pondering those potatoes. Could a restaurant that’s being hyped as one of the most exciting new places in the area TRULY be serving bad mashed potatoes? I understand the limitations of a wood-fired oven and small kitchen; a smart move would be to remove that side from the menu to focus more on what Änna’s does exceptionally well—and that is hands down their locally-sourced vegetables. Three stars for dinner. The interior has changed a bit since its last iteration as St. Croix Chocolate Company’s former shop. It’s now très chic with clean Scandinavian lines and inspired, feminine light fixtures, perfect for a romantic meal and Instagram’s aesthetic. I found the service both times excellent. Unlike some, I don’t like having servers hang over me while I’m chatting and eating, and thus found the amount of attention perfectly friendly and suitable. When there was an issue, they were mature and forthright about it so we knew how they fixed it. Couldn’t ask for more! Four stars for location/ambiance/service.

Was excited to try and support a new local restaurant, but my husband and I were very disappointed. We both ordered steaks, which were not cooked properly (no sear, very rubbery), which were paired with some incredibly dry mashed potatoes. Throughout our hour sitting there, the same song played the entire time. The saving grace was the flatbread appetizer, which was quite good. For $123, it really did not feel like we got our money’s worth.

The food was good, not great but the service was slow and inexperienced. Tables too close by to be romantic. Not their fault, but I'm allergic to roses which they had on all tables and a bouquet at the door so there was no avoiding the misery.

My wife and I tried this place and found a new favorite restaurant. Sam our waitress was so friendly and attentive, she made the night fun and recommended some great choices. I had the steak and it was cooked to perfection with an amazing sauce and sides to complement. My wife had the chicken and it was amazing too. Highly recommend you give this place a try!

A cute little place with five or six tables. I had the steak which was cooked perfectly with a red wine demiglaze, mashed potatoes with some onion crisps, and substituted roasted carrots for brokallini. The canned IPA from Oliphant washed it down nicely. Small menu, but I liked what I got.

I cannot say enough about how delicious our meals were. I moved to Scandia from Minneapolis where I was a huge foodie. It’s so nice to have a restaurant close by with gourmet food that competes with the fancy restaurants in downtown Minneapolis. We had the tenderloin and halibut that were cooked to perfection. The server was very attentive. The ambiance is humble and sophisticated at the same time.If you’re looking for a special treat this is it.

What a great place in Marine on St. Croix, I was welcomed with a smile when I walked inside. A few options for pastries, however, I came in for coffee this morning. They made me something special and when it was ready they brought it out to me! Today the sun shined bright through the large windows and filled the room, whether you’re meeting a group to sip coffee and chat or you need a place to get some computer work done outside the house, like me. This coffee place is the right spot for you, a true Gem of Marine on St. Croix.

I like to quip about places like Anna's that they didn't hire a cook...they hired a CHEF! Skillfully crafted food that was amazingly delicious. Not highbrow ambience, if you're into that sort of thing. Price scale I rate $$$. Service very attentive and individualized.
