The food here is absolutely outstanding. It’s a hidden gem in the area. Best food by far in Aitkin County. I can’t stress enough how good the food is. My husband always gets the meat hammer sandwich. Last night I tried the special which was a sirloin steak and shrimp with au gratin potatoes and mixed veggies. In the fall they had a special Oktoberfest menu which was really fun. I had the cabbage rolls and they tasted like ones I had in Germany. The food is very affordable priced for the quality

A gem of a restaurant on Horseshoe Lake in McGregor, MN. It has a popular bar and a couple bocce ball courts. The food is expertly prepared with the right mix of spices and always fresh ingredients. At times, specially in the summer, it can get busy so reservations are encouraged. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable

All in all a pretty solid place. They have poutine! ( Well, a variation anyways)Plenty of outdoor seating where my dog was welcome. What really impressed me was gassing up the boat at their dock.I'd go here again.

The food is amazing! Definitely coming back the next time we're in the area.Kid-friendliness: Bar grill with kids menu. The kids burger is a normal sized burger and so good.Parking: Plenty of parking. Seems like boat parking too.
Ate here many times in the 90s up through 2006. Food and service is pretty good.

I love hole in the wall places, the little bars that are gems for their own reasons. The lake is beautiful and the food was very good. The cook is extremely talented, the type of food you know he has hella training under his belt. I ordered the prime rib sandwich, not asking what was on it I was shocked nothing but the meat. I kind of regretted not asking for cheese and onions, and then the prime rib blew me away. Probably the best prime rib I've ever had. I'd say for the price bigger portions would help, not much under $13.00, but good food in an old bar atmosphere. Stop for the food, the view, and the dog in the bar, it is a quaint lil place we even threw a line off the dock at before leaving. Gluten free options were slim, but dang if the cook didn't do his best and whip up an awesome broiled walleye dinner on the fly, now that's service.

Our family stops there almost every Friday when we come up to our cabin. We get dinner for the whole family and friends and drink many beers and dabble in a few shots. My favorite bartender is Collin he is the best and the new owner is very friendly and makes sure his guest our happy.
Great
