I'm a regular customer who visit there at least once or twice a week. I buy foods for my employees too.
I love Afro deli but i hated experince from yesterday.
The cashier yesterday at oct.12, 2pm? who took my order was prepping my food with bare hand and cleaned his hand with his aprons.
He was touching meat and veges inside of gopher gyro with bare hands after touching other stuffs. One was with gloves and one without but i didnt like it at all. I will say your gyros are so good that would like to visit again but not on that guy working.

Absurdly dry
Worst food ever. I at there today for lunch. I ordered eight wings, side salad and a beef Sambusa
Let’s start with the hygiene. None of the cooks changed their gloves as they handled cooked, uncooked and fresh food, touching everything in the kitchen and then the food. Had to request the cook to change his gloves before he made my food.
Salad- it was disgusting. The green pepper was literally rotten had to spit it out. The salad tasted like dirt.
Wings- bland and mushy and undercooked. Bit into a second wing and it was raw. Left my food and walked out. I was too mad to ask for my money back because I was too afraid of what I may have done to the cooks.
Avoid that dirty ass spot.
Very good!
Update: 6 years later I’m back, used to hit up this location frequently and well,,, it STILL DOES NOT MISS!!!

Afro Deli is one of my go-to food options if I find myself on the U of M campus. Their food is delicious, and the service is great.

I was staying in the University of Minnesota and this place was a life saver when I did not want to eat in the dining hall. Their falafel sandwich was genuinely some of the best falafel I have ever had and their fries were undoubtedly the best fries I have ever had. The service was super quick and we got our food in under 10 minutes consistently. The staff was super friendly and the restaurant had a great atmosphere to it. Would strongly recommend if you are in the area!

Food is made fresh, service is quick and friendly. It's a casual fast-food spot so don't expect much about the atmosphere of the restaurant. The times I went, many people just ate and left immediately. I wish the hours were longer, but apparently this location is opened the latest out of them all
Parking: It took us a little bit to find parking in that area. You're probably better off taking the metro to get there as it's a few minutes walk away from the nearest stop.

Food was great and service was friendly and reasonably fast for how busy it was. Everything was still hot so it wasn’t sitting out.

Not worth it. Go somewhere else. I got a falafel sandwich for $10, and there wasn’t much to it. I was so hungry that I needed to go somewhere, but I regret going here because there was barely any falafel and then there was a pathetic amount of tomatoes and lettuce and onions. Don’t waste your hard earned money here. The service was pleasant.
