It's pretty mid for what you're paying tbh. I got the jollof rice with chicken, sambusas, meat pies, peanut soup, meatballs, and an extra order of chicken and shrimp.

The jollof rice itself was aight. Seasoned enough that it's doable, but you definitely want the meat accompanying it because that extra flavor and sauce from the meat takes it up incredibly. The sambusas were such a let down. It definitely needed more seasoning and wish it would've stayed crispy instead of soggy but whatevs, so definitely use the dipping sauce they provide (which is freaking fire btw, like good job on the dipping sauce). The meat pies were so doughy (think empanadas) and similar filling as the sambusas so womp womp (more seasoning please); I thought they'd be more flaky. And then the extra sides of meats that I bought. Ummm...y'all, don't order it AT ALL (this is your warning) lol. Why did I get unseasoned boiled chicken and shrimp ($10 a piece too :'(, and in small amounts. I literally got 2 meatballs, the size of golf balls, for $8. Bruuhhhhhhh.

But you know what, it was my first time. And I'm supporting a family-owned business. And it sure as hell well also be my last time ordering those side items lmfao. Haven't tried the peanut soup yet, but it looks very promising! I hope the owner reads this and makes that spicy coconut rice, and adds it to the menu so we can all relish in that (esp with their fried fish).

So far my favorite restaurant in the area. 10/10 for sure perfectly, tender and flavorful goat stew with fufu and goat jollof. Our order included a spicy sauce on the side that was really good, and it was nice to have it on the side so the younger kids could eat without the spice. We also got a few sambusas that were, of course, very good. Everyone was so friendly while picking up my order. My family really enjoyed our meals. Would definitely recommend and we will be back. Thank you ❤️❤️

I live in Michigan and ordered food from Akwaaba Market and Restaurant before flying home—and I’m so glad I did! The food was absolutely the best I’ve had in a long time. The meats were incredibly flavorful and tender, and the portion sizes were generous! I took it with me on my flight home. Even after the trip, the food still tasted amazing. I’ll definitely be coming back whenever I’m in town again. Highly recommend! (Michigan African food is not good).

The greens was good BUT THE FUFU WAS TERRIBLE.

Legit mash potatoes the worst fufu I had in my life and I couldn’t understand why because there was plenty of boxes with instructions on the side

Latifa

25$ for that … too much for what it was.

It's a store front with some seating in front and back, food was great

I usually can order online for delivery, now I can’t because the zing my order site does not work and I’ve tried it on several devices yet the owner who answer the phone tells me he is receiving orders at this time. Please fix this.

Last night I ordered FuFu and okra with chicken and goat meat. The sauce was so watery to the point it won’t even stick to the Fufu. Their customer service is terrible and the place is so dirty. I have went to this place several times I thought they’d treat their returning customers well but they are money hungry and will give you old food that makes your stomach upset. I can’t believe he gave me food poisoning with watery sauce yikes. Don’t go here. I found a better place that makes perfect fufu professionally.
