My spouse and I were excited to try this place. We have lived in the neighborhood for many years and remember when this was the previous 2 establishments. Neither of us are vegan or vegetarian, but we had high hopes and we love supporting our neighborhood. We walked in and waited patiently. After a bit, a women finally gave us menus to look at, but said nothing about how to order our food or where we should sit. We wait, and wait, and wait. Finally the man behind the bar asked if we had ordered yet. We said that, "we were told to wait." We order and wait for our food. When we do get our food...well, lets just say that it isn't good, at all. She got a grilled cheese and tomato soup. I got the F.O burger and yuca fries. Not sure how you mess up a grilled cheese, but the cheese was very much not melted in the middle and it was also soggy due to the tomato in the middle. The tomato soup wasn't terrible, but not good either. The burger was small for $14 - with no side included.I really wish it was a better experience, but it was what it was - well below average for $50.00. We wish this place well but won't be surprised if it is gone in 6 months. Hopefully this place can succeed - but it seems doubtful. When the next place moves in we will try that place and hopefully will get a good meal. The only reason this isn't a 1 star review is that it wasn't a terrible experience.

They got me! Didn’t look closely before going and didn’t realize they were a vegetarian place, I was upset at first but decided to just give it a try. And WOW! The food is amazing, no idea what the patty is made of and honestly don’t care, will definitely be back!

Incredible food. I live in northeast and this is my favorite place to eat. There are only hits on this menu. Every burger is amazing, and they make my favorite brussel sprouts in the whole world.

The kitchen was closed at 12:30am, but the bartender was so cool she made me some sort of croissnt/bagel sandwich with Brie cheese and caramelized onions... Said it was a regular thing on Saturday (?) mornings.... Highly recommend

Amazing brunch! Check this place out if you haven't yet. Will be going again for sure to try other items. French croquette, mushroom omelet, and avocado toast. All were perfection.

Very confused. All Love This burger? Where was the burger. On entry I was told it was mainly a vegetarian restaurant but if you water beef, (person points to a small section on the menu) I order the mushroom with cheese and onion Thinking I was getting a ALT Burger. It was sloppy Joe. I was expecting some delicious veggie in-house burger. It was a sandwich with the topping of what could have been delicious if there was a burger involved, like the name of the restaurant. Over salted and even the fries were just - fries.Vegetarian options: The mushroom pate was sweet. Blurk.

You can get a delicious veggie burger or the same burger with a beef patty. We had the fries, brussel sprouts, french onion burger and the “philly cheese steak” made with mushrooms and it was ALL delicious! Owners were great and they even treated us to a pie for Pi day on 3/14!!! Great and unique wine list was also fun. Prices were great and tip was included!

Damn, this place is good!! Finding a spot that serves meatless burgers that are house-made from real food- not frozen patties or Beyond Burger- was like hitting the jackpot for a vegetarian!! Heck yes!!! Add to that a rock-and-roll atmosphere with cozy booths, great service and a bunch of people who love making high quality, crave-able “junk food” (though there is nothing junk about the food at ALTburger!)…every time I go to this place I am surprised to not see a line out the door! Ranch fries? YES. And the craft cocktails are beyond belief (try the Old Fashioned made with house made brown sugar simple syrup!) you cannot go wrong with any menu item. You might be lucky enough to catch some of the local flavor up close and personal when regulars belly up to the bar and give you an earful about the NE Arts District. Seriously people, this place is fire!
