Had a really nice late Saturday lunch on the patio overlooking the river and Mill City ruins. We were served quickly and attentively. The pulled pork sandwich was very tasty and the side salad was fresh. The Curry Bowl was good too. Nice atmosphere. Spotted four or so different wedding parties doing pics. We took it as good luck because it was our wedding anniversary. If they could just not have street parking in front of the patio so the river view was nicer.

This is my second time at this establishment where I haven’t been served. I personally love supporting small businesses and decided to give this place another go after a few years. It appears that the service has not changed at all. Hostesses were great and friendly, but that’s where it kind of ends. Sat there for five minutes before pulling out my phone to time and see how long it was going to take to get service this time. Multiple servers in red shirts noticed me sitting there but failed to come and get my order. Three of them saw me but chose to converse rather than serve me. It wasn’t busy, there weren’t a ton of people, and there were only about four total tables that had people at them on the patio. At the fifteen minute mark, I decided that it was ample time to get service and decided that I was done waiting. As I was leaving, I asked the hostess to get a manager, who came out and was friendly and understanding. She offered to comp a few drinks and an appetizer, but I wasn’t there to get free items. I just wanted to enjoy my Saturday afternoon off the Stone Arch Bridge. I’m leaving this review not to leave a negative note on the manager or the hostesses, but as servers, your duty was to serve guests. If your guests are not being served, how are you getting paid?

I guess come here if you don’t mind not being served? I’d say to sit at the bar rather than at the tables where you rely on the servers to get anything.

Nice atmosphere by the river, food was decent, only annoying thing was the rude customer service; feels like they want to rush you in and out as fast as possible

Such a great experience. Our server Kieran was amazing! So friendly and attentive. Brought us random requests since we had a 1 year old that had to have a straw and bread😊 You can’t beat the location and neighborhood vibes of main st.
Ultimately, Kieran was what made the night so welcoming! And the food & drinks were fab. Can’t wait to spend more summer evenings at Aster.

The dining experience was exceptional, characterized by outstanding food and service. Despite the restaurant being quite busy on the night I visited with my best friend, the quality of service remained high, and our meals were prepared quickly and served fresh. I ordered the beet salad, which I found to be incredibly delicious. The experience was enjoyable enough that I would consider making a special trip to Minneapolis just to dine here again.

I visited in the evening after spending time at a nearby spa, and I was pleasantly surprised by the menu options. Initially, I had no specific expectations, as I hadn’t received any recommendations prior to my visit. Fortunately, it turned out to be a great choice. Additionally, for those interested in cannabis-infused options, the restaurant offers a variety of alcoholic beverages along with a selection of cannabis drinks.

PERFECT date spot. Ambiance is spot on. Perfect size venue. Not too loud, not too quiet. The champagne and taper candles on NYE were a beautiful touch. The flatbreads were the perfect amount of food, just filling enough without weighing you down too much. The charcuterie and brownie were delightful. Old fashioned was strong but smooth. Parking not as difficult to navigate as I thought based on the website. Short but beautiful walk to the Stone Arch Bridge, especially at night (go to the left if you walk out the front door). I'm not the kind of person to spend $150 on a dinner for anyone, much less a first date (I'm very frugal aka poor), but I don't regret it at all. 11/10 would recommend.

Parking: Their website has very thorough parking instructions with pictures, which I appreciated as a nervous autistic. I was afraid the amount of detail meant it would be difficult to follow in person, but we didn't end up looking at the instructions, as it was pretty intuitive. Payment is QR code only, no cash or machine, and you have to input your license plate number. It was about $10 for 4 hours.

After only visiting years ago on their beautiful patio in the summertime- I really liked the holiday vibes in here Perfect for a date night
HH deals from 4-6 pm, $5 house wines- they do give big pours but unfortunately I wasn't a fan of my red
I would try their sangria next time- pro tip they can make the sangria cold or hot!!

Aster Cafe is soooo legit. Delicious and very. Priced menu items, especially given the fantastic atmosphere. Came in to try lunch on a Sunday and was blown away to find a 4 piece band playing some 1940s style music. Whatever you guys are doing over there at Aster, don’t change a thing.

Dietary restrictions: They have vegan and gluten free options. Even biscuits and sausage!
