It exceeded the hype! Perfect atmosphere, food, wine and staff. Beautifully / smartly / classically appointed, with special touches such as Laguiole steak knives. Feels like the best little locals-only discovery. They easily managed to make all 5 of my courses GF, and it was the best GF pasta and bread that I’ve ever tasted! Congrats to this visionary team for a masterpiece of a restaurant.

Hands down, Bucheron is absolutely one of the best dining experiences in the twin cities.
Very much reminiscent of a cozy yet cool Parisian bistro.
They have a menu with a handful of signature mainstays (like the delightful Pommes Dauphines) but also fun seasonal features. The dishes that we’ve had have been delicious, and also show off technique, finesse, and restraint. Shout-out to the desserts and the cocktail and drink program as well!
We’ve been fortunate enough to visit a number of times, and all I can say is that the chefs and the service team just keep getting better! Cannot wait to dine at Bucheron again!

First visit to the reknown restaurant. James Beard and the New York Times got it right. Bucheron is an exceptional restaurant. Every menu item was a creative masterpiece. Fine dining in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. Group of 4 had an amazing time and will be back again, often.

The Fellers Ranch Steak was phenomenal although it was probably under 6 oz for $72 however I will definitely go back again an again. Every bite was well worth it.
The presentation alone made my mouth water.
The next day I felt like I had fed my soul.
Our Waite staff was engaging and friendly.
Can’t wait to go back .
I knew they were James Beard Awarded so my expectations were a little high and Bucheron did NOT disappoint.
Thanks

I went to Boucheron on a Thursday night with my husband and another couple. The ambience was warm and the service was excellent - prompt and knowledgeable. I had looked at the menu ahead of time and found myself wondering if any of the entrees came with any sort of carbohydrate because none were included with the descriptions. I did not love our table being so close to the tables around us, it felt like you were inconveniencing 4 people to get up and go to the restroom. I’m sure the servers don’t love it either. We were instructed to order 8 dishes for our party size. I was the only one who didn’t eat seafood at the table, 3 of the 8 dishes we ordered contained seafood. I enjoyed the Lion’s Mane mushroom the most and the Pappardelle would’ve been a close second had it not been over seasoned. The pommes Dauphines had great light fluffy texture. The rest I didn’t find particularly notable and there really was a distinct lack of vegetables or carbohydrates. I found myself reaching my protein threshold and would have appreciated bread, potatoes, or rice as the main entree section truly didn’t offer sides. I would much rather go to Meritage.

Celebrated our anniversary dinner at Bucheron. We had the crudo, pommes dauphines, summer beans, rabbit pappadelle, rainbow trout and cookies and cream and a bottle of red wine. I really wanted an amazing experience especially because it won a James Beard award. The highlights was the pommes dauphines and rainbow trout. The restaurant was cozy, but a bit too dark and loud.

This was the best meal I’ve ever had in Minneapolis and there is not really a close second. My wife and I wanted to celebrate a very personal matter to us (our daughter finally coming home from the hospital after 385 days) and made a reservation about a month in advance. While the prime times go quickly, we actually very much enjoyed “closing down” the restaurant. We ordered the shrimp cocktail with the black garlic aioli is absolutely outstanding. We each had cocktails off their drink menu that were perfectly prepared. We then ate family style with the lobster spaghetti and rabbit pappardelle to share and based solely on recommendation also decided we had to try the chicken. Every bite was better than the previous. We just kept laughing in astonishment at how good each bite was for us. While absolutely full, we had to try the cookies and cream dessert which was also perfection. Beyond the food, the service was second to none and the restaurant went way out of their way to make our celebration magical. They even made a onesie with their logo on it for our daughter coming home. We will be back and while we know it is getting quite famous with the awards (James beard) and too 50 restaurant in the country (NYT), they don’t act like it. They treat you as a loyal customer and see to it that you enjoy every moment you are there. Absolutely the best spot in Minneapolis!

From the moment we walked in, the entire staff was warm, helpful and accommodating. The space is beautiful and comfortable and the food is outrageously good. The Fois and Tartare are must haves the Rabbit Pappardelle was exquisite and the Lamb was cooked to perfection. Although, everything was also incredible. Adam and Jeanie are wonderful. Thank you for an incredible evening.

This is a wonderful entry-level fine dining spot, and Minneapolis has definitely been needing something like this. They nailed the concept, and I believe with time they will only improve. That said, they were not close to the level of other James Beard award–winning restaurants at this point.

I was seated on the patio, so my review is based on that experience. The interior looked charming, and I appreciated the thoughtful bathroom amenities. Unfortunately, the patio felt like an afterthought—just a few tables with umbrellas on a busy road. Without any noise barrier from traffic, it didn’t feel like a space that matched the $150–$300 per person price point. The lack of bug repellent was also a major issue, as we spent much of our evening swatting away mosquitoes and flies.

The food itself was a mix of highs and lows. The appetizer plate with shrimp, oyster, and ceviche was underwhelming. At $5 per oyster, freshness is expected, but the ones we received had an unpleasant bitter taste that suggested poor quality and shells were not properly cleaned. Honestly, neither the oyster nor the ceviche should remain on the menu in their current state. Starters were fine but nothing memorable. The main dishes, however, were excellent and easily the highlight of the night. Dessert fell short again—especially with the popular Sebastian Joe’s ice cream next door setting such a high bar. For a restaurant at this level, the pastry program needs to be elevated if they want to put $20 price tag on them.

On the positive side, service was excellent and matched the fine dining price point. With improvements to patio design, ingredient quality, and dessert execution, this place has the potential to truly stand out. I’ll look forward to returning once they bring their full A-game.
