We had been looking forward to Bucheron for quite some time after all of the great reviews. The service was wonderful! 1) Venison tartare - wonderful! a must have 2) Octopus - seemed to lack some flavor - a little salt would have really helped to bring everything out 3) Lion Mane - wonderfully cooked, but also need a little salt to bring the flaor of the mushroom out I doubt we will go back

First off food and service were superb. Staff gave the environment a friendly feel and were knowledgeable of menu/drink offerings. What I can't get past when thinking if I would return is how grossly inadequate the size of the interior is. So tight that once seated there is no room left for the wait staff to service the restaraunt. There may be a foot between tables and to no fault of their own I was bumped our entire dinner by the wait staff. If this were a fast casual type of restaraunt wouldn't be a big deal being so close to your dinner neighbor but for a place where dinner for two will be over $200 I just can't rationalize how compact of a spot you are expected to squeeze into. Although tight the restaraunt is beautiful and we had a wonderful experience.

Hands down one of my favorite new restaurants of 2024 so far. Service was amazing (they clear your plates and utensils between every course), and every dish my group ordered was amazing. I was a huge fan of the pork chop, smoked eel, and I still dream of the octopus bolognese. It is a bit of a pricier spot, but totally worth it (I'm already thinking about when I'd come back for the bolognese). It's a little small inside since it took over the old Revival on Nicollet, but I love the moody vibes.

We were really looking forward to this meal. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the high expectations we had.We started with cocktails. While they were good cocktails, it took over 20 minutes for them to come. Considering we were the literal first table sat, that is a very long time. For the food, we sampled quite a few different dishes.Lion's Mane - 4/5 This was very good. It was crispy and the texture of the mushrooms was almost meaty. Would recommend.Celery Root Tortellini- 4/5 The broth was good. The tortellini were filled with marscapone cheese. Good dish.Mixed Chicory Salad - 4/5 Salad had good flavor. Beets were nice.Pommel Dauphines - 3/5 They were crispy and the texture was nice. But they had caraway flavor and it was almost over powering. Not my favorite. Also worth noting, the online menu says $10 but I just checked my receipt and we were charged $12.Bread - We asked for a little bread to go with the meal to soak up the sauces. While the bread was good, it was $6 for 2 slices that were cut in half and we were never informed there would be a fee for the bread when we asked for it. We assumed it was complimentary.Feller's Ranch Steak - 3/5 This is where is all went south. We all ordered this dish. Thats 3 steaks for a total of $126. We ordered them medium well. They came out and they were borderline medium if not medium rare. It was offered to take them back however we've down this road before. All that will happen is those same pieces will go back on the grill to cook longer and will come back out tougher than they started. So regrettably, we ate them the way they were. The meat was tough regardless of the cook temperature.Sticky Toffee Cake - 4/5 Flavor was good. Mandarin orange sorbet was light.Cookies and Cream - 4/5 Flavor and texture was very good here too. Milk sorbet had nice flavor. Chocolate macarons added nice crunch.. Both desserts weren't to sweet either which was nice. They charge an automatic 21% service fee. I wasn't surprised by the fee as its listed on the menu, however I dont think the service we received warranted that cost. I paid $72 for service. I did not receive $72 service in my opinion. Had I been tipping on my own, I would have dropped that by $30 easily.Bare in mind this place is quite small and the tables are very close together, like very close. Thats something to take into consideration if that's not your preferred type of space. Our bill was $461 for 3 people. I don't mind paying a high price if I feel like the experience is worth it but I dont feel like The price reflected the service and food we received. I honestly don't think we'll be back.

The restaurant is in the old Revival space so it's just a few tables. You walk into the bar area and a couple of counter seats against the window then there's the dining room. Started with a sparkling rose and the rum cocktail. The waiter suggested 3 savory dishes each. I find that we never need as much as is suggested and we went with a total of four for the two of us which was PLENTY. We stayed with the eel and the bison tartare. I thought the bison was exceptional. We ordered the octopus served over pasta and the steak with potato purée which also came out together. I probably would have preferred them coursed as it felt like the meal was over relatively quickly. The steak was amazing. The cut rotates and it was flank steak for us. We both liked the pasta but would pick something else next time. We split the toffee cake for dessert. It was served warm with a citrus sorbet. The service was absolutely amazing. We will be back but with all the new places to try in the twin cities it could be a while.

We had: Smoked Eel Tarine: While I adored the overall flavor, the smoky essence played a rather shy role. Mixed Chicory Salad with Beets: This salad launched me into orbit! It's easily the most delightful beet preparation I've ever encountered. Octopus Bolognese: The flavor was a deep, rich ocean symphony, though the salty notes bordered on a playful crescendo. Celery Root Tortellini: This dish stole the spotlight! It was the undisputed champion of the night. Skrei Cod: The cod was perfectly cooked, boasting a buttery tenderness that did not disappoint. The Food: A Delicious Enigma The food itself was undeniably fantastic, a perfect 10/10. The menu, however, presented a bit of a challenge. We were advised to order 2-3 dishes per person, with portion sizes supposedly increasing as you went down the list. However, the cod was surprisingly similar in size (or even smaller) to the bolognese and tortellini, which were higher on the menu. This made it difficult to gauge how much food to order, and unfortunately, our server wasn't much help in clarifying portion sizes. Uneven Service Adding to the confusion, other tables were offered additional items (possibly truffles?) while we weren't, despite ordering some of the same dishes. A Bumpier Ride Than Expected Finally, there was the issue of table placement. Being seated on the outside of the table, I was unfortunately bumped by three different servers throughout the meal. These encounters involved two chair kicks and one bang on my arm with a silverware box. Considering the tightly packed tables (about a foot apart!), I suspect this might be a recurring issue. While mistakes happen, a simple "excuse me" or acknowledgment from the servers would have gone a long way in diffusing the awkwardness.

Great little restaurant. Very good food and service. Loud. Plenty street parking. Corkage$35. Good for a date night but conversation difficult because of noise level. Celery root tortellini were

My husband and I dined at Bucheron to celebrate our anniversary. What a surprise! Hands down the best meal we’ve had in the Twin Cities in years. Creative and mazing flavors, super skilled kitchen and mixologist, stellar, professional and warm staff. Bravo!

I came here on a Wednesday evening with my wife and one thing we were immediately impressed by was the way they use the space as when It was revival it was incredibly loud and that seems to have been improved greatly. The food was all very good. I would get anything we got again. The truth is though nothing like blew me away. It might have been because my expectations were so high but I would have liked a little more wow factor at these prices. Still can't give it less than 5 stars the food was top notch. The last thing I'll say is the service could have been a little better. Here again though it was more in the feel. We got everything we needed and quickly. Just felt a little cold. In the end the place clearly deserves the accolades and I can't wait to go again and see it as it grows.

I went to Bucheron for my birthday with my two best friends. We had reservations at 5, so it was pretty empty and quiet when we arrived. It didn't take long at all for the whole place to be packed full. It was a cute little space, albeit a little cramped. The servers were all exceptional. They had great recommendations and ideas. We decided we wanted to work out what we were eating before ordering drinks. Then they helped us pair our food up with the best drinks. When it came to the food, we ordered a lot but were disappointed by none. We ordered, a number of appetizers, and for dinner we had the wagyu and the celery root tortellini. We also had all of the desserts minus the cheese. Everything was to DIE for. Highly recommend getting into this place sooner than later!

John is such a great server! I've visited Bûcheron twice since opening, and John was super friendly, attentive, and excited about the menu both times. Definitely made the experience really special. We'll keep coming back for the amazing food and fantastic service.
