Wanted to try something new. Walked into a "local" bonding, hole-in-wall vibe restaurant. Had no idea what any of the items on menu were. Staff explained what dishes consisted of. Went with the KK with chicken. Was able to sit and pay later. They brought food to our table and gave complimentary cokes and waters for us. Staff said they wanted us to "have a good experience and come back". I absolutely loved the food and we cleaned the plate fast! Also, they did not force a tip after paying. Definitely go! And experience amazing hospitality and great food

Excellent service and very tasty food! Also, they were super clear about prices. I don't think the issues from a previous review still stand. Loved the rice. I'd go back to try the hand pie.

Hole in the wall so you know it'll be good! We came in with no real knowledge of Somali foods (but some of Kenya and Ethiopia), yet the menu was still fairly relatable even without any prior experience. Most importantly, they had the menu of the previous restaurant still up - a Mediterranean place it looked like - and the woman in charge said they could make Somali versions of most of that. So I asked for a chicken sandwich using the Somali stewed chicken and my partner got the chicken stew plate (suqar I think). Both were delightful, and the Somali-styled black tea was deliciously like a chai tea.Highly recommend.

Wow, what a unique experience and one of the best meals I've ever had! Please don't be turned off by the run-down/hole in the wall appearance of this place inside or outside. As soon as I walked in the door I knew I was in for something very different. I was the only person speaking English here and the menu was full of stuff I'd never heard of but thankfully my phone came in handy for figuring out what was what. I ordered the Chicken Suqar with bread and it turns out the bread is actually some kind of thin flatbread that's shredded and cooked with the chicken so it absorbs all the juices and flavor. The person taking my order explained that it's a uniquely Somali way of using bread. It was mind-blowing, the flavor and spice profile was unlike anything I've ever had. I only wish I could have eaten more! If I'm ever visiting again I will 100% come back here.

Used to eat here on frequent occasions or special celebration as a poor foreign student at the U of Minnesota with all of my fellow Malaysian housemates. Halal and cheap food, and friendly place.

Not hygienic. People are warm and hospitable, though. I wouldn't recommend it though. They need to make a cleaner environment.

Food was horrible, customer service is horrible. I asked for ranch and they gave me a pea size honey mustard, what am I supposed to do with that lick it?
