If you walk in the door and see a line, turn around and go somewhere else. Five people behind the bar and it still took 25 minutes to serve 12 people.

When I finally reached the front of the line, I discovered the cause of the delay. The cashier/barista was having a conversation with each and every customer. During my wait, the line had grown to approximately 30 people.

To add insult to injury, one of the baristas brought coffee to her friends who were waiting in line. Meaning those individuals no longer had to wait with the rest of us. This time could have been used to serve customers who were already waiting.

I appreciate a level of friendliness. However, no one wants to wait in line. Be considerate of other people’s time.

Atmosphere is 5/5. Beautiful high ceilings encompassed with plants and remains of old industrial equipment to reflect the buildings old life.

Whether you’re looking to get some work done, enjoy a slow morning, or reconnect over coffee, this is a great choice.

Although the coffee (in my personal opinion) seems a bit over priced, the atmosphere itself makes up for it.

My go to order is a Miel, or rotating through their different latte speciality offerings.

Parking- paid street parking is available. Depending on the time of day you go, you may have to park a couple blocks away.

It was hard choice to rate a 3. But the pastries alone drag it down. If you are a pastry lover, this is not the place. The space itself is really cool. The atmosphere is a young hipster vibe. The coffee is really good. The light in here is amazing, why the plastic plants?

Slow. One person sitting running a register as four others casually makes orders as the long line forms. Coffee is just fair. High prices with poor customer service. There is no insight on how to care or is it not cool to care for the paying customer?

We were so excited to come here. The atmosphere is amazing but the service was horrendously! We tried to engage in conversations with baristas and they were so rude! If you don’t want to be in hospitality business then get out! Deflated our enthusiasm

This place is so cute! I found it on TikTok after searching “cutest coffee shop Minneapolis” and Backstory did not disappoint. My chai latte was delicious. The atmosphere was stunning. It is very spacious with lots of seating for lounging, catching up with friends, or getting individual work done. I’d love to come back to this place soon!

The atmosphere of this coffee shop is incredible, the food and drinks are otherwise. Came in this morning with our family for the first time. The iced chai was not very sweet and my least favorite chai I've got, which was disappointing. Both of our hot lattes were lukewarm at best and unfortunately ended up getting thrown out once we got home. The croissant was very good once I got home and warmed it up. Overall, drinks were very disappointing and pricey, even for smalls. This place would be a great study or hangout spot but other than that, it's a skip for me.

Very nice locally roasted coffee and delicious pastries in a warm and impressive space. There is a variety of seating options, from cozy couches and armchairs to large tables. During my recent visit, several people were working on their laptops while others engaged in quiet conversation. The staff is very friendly and skilled. I highly recommend this cafe for coffee and a great atmosphere.

Heavily overpriced cappuccino was so watery and they made other people's drinks before mine yet ordered after me. My first impression of this establishment is that I'd like a refund.
