The guy that owns the joint works the grill and is very friendly. I’m visiting from out of town and I have thought about my breakfast here all day. I’m coming back tomorrow before I fly out. Typical, greasy diner fare, but cooked to perfection for what it is. And tasted magnificent! Cool, vintage vibes and some history on the walls. These places have mostly died out, so I’m happy to do my part in supporting this business to keep it alive.
The Band Box is a true diner with a neighborhood vibe fostered by the incredible owners. The gem of Elliot Park.

It's fascinating to think there was a time in my life---which ended about thirty minutes ago---in which I had not eaten the Band Box's Beyond Burger patty melt and had not understood how excellent the Band Box Diner is and the heights that life can reach more broadly. There is nothing about this place that doesn't make me happy. My business partner and I briefly discussed relocating to Minneapolis so we could eat every meal of the rest of our lives here.
