We're super looking forward to our meal after hearing great things and seeing great reviews and a delicious menu. Unfortunately it was very overpriced considering the quality of the food and service. Tiny parking lot was full despite us having an early dinner. The flavor of all four entrees was lackluster. I'm sorry to say that I've had better food at chain American restaurants. Service was slow at each milestone of the meal. Potatoes and vegetables with each entree were only hot when under/next to the entree that was served with them, otherwise they were lukewarm or cold. Server was carrying multiple empty cocktail glasses across the restaurant with multiple tipped towards the floor and dripped the whole way past our table, including on the chair of one of our family members. Dessert was also overpriced given how lackluster it was and how small the portion was. Again, we've have had way better dessert at chain restaurants so we were super bummed. Unfortunately we will not pay those prices again ($30-$50) because the food did not live up to it.

My favorite brunch food is eggs benedict and Barbette's are THE BEST!! I have been brunching at Barbette for years and every time it's one of the bennys. A must place to go for benny fans.

The food here is not very good, but it's a fine place to talk, grab dessert(pretty tasty) and a drink. Not so sure on the food, none of the food on other tables looked good. Had parsnip soup and it was the wrong texture, instead of very smooth with some creme fraiche it was just lumpy and even seemed to have curry powder in it. Gross. Omelette was not cooked the french way like I've had it at some other restaurants where it is more like a souffle. Their omelette(cooking wise) was worse than the Omelettes like Perkins. The really stand out is the scene here, it's very hip and the service is really good. I would come here for coffee and desserts, probably oysters too. My oysters were impossible to complicate and very good.

Good food
Terrific service
Noisy dining room and loud music often seems to suit the employees not the customers. I only go during off hours when it’s not so noisy. If I were cynical I’d think it’s purposefully noisy to keep guests moving.

I hosted my baby shower in the Trapeze room at Barbette and got so many compliments on how cute the venue was! The staff was so easy to work with and Danni, our server for the event, was the best! She was so helpful and sweet. Can’t wait to go back!

Another place I regret not going sooner. Marianela (I think—EDIT:definitely her name is Marianela—ask for her) was our server and was amazing. Really, the service was spectacular, even just for a weekday visit. All the food, beer and cocktails were great but we especially loved the pate, fries, and Croque Madame.

Truly #1 Best Perfect Delectable Diner meals I have ever had at a diner.
The hashbrowns were absolutely delicious .
The pancake absolute perfection, light & fluffy but with a lovely light vanilla sweet taste.
The BLT extra applewood bacon on pumpernickel rye was the most perfect Cooked tasty bacon lettuce and tomato I have ever had.

The eggs over medium were cooked perfectly!
Along with all the sides.
Coffee is worthy and endless refills.
Everything a diner should be and more
Super clean, Classic diner atmosphere. Absolutely delectable delicious food.
Our server, I forget his name. He was an absolute joy, Informative, kind, and extremely efficient.. He made us feel welcome the moment we walked in. He said there was a new owner. I hope the new owner gives him a raise as he is a very valuable employee.. I wish I lived in the Twin Cities, but when I come back to visit some relatives I will for sure make this my first and last stop. Thank you kindly For all ~

My son and I had an amazing late lunch on a chilly Sunday afternoon. We were warmly welcomed into the cozy restaurant by our lovely server, Jeri. We started our lunch by sharing a Bloody Mary -- which was perfectly spiced -- and a plate of pommes frites with aioli. I usually opt for ketchup, but the aioli was the best that I have ever had! Next, we had herbed goat cheese and French bread. I'm kind of picky about bread, but this bread was the perfect texture and SO tasty! For our main meal, my son had the Croque Monsieur and I had the Croque Vegetarienne with a garden salad. AMAZING!!! Finally, we shared the carrot cake which was the best that I have ever had! And anyone that knows me, knows that I am a connoisseur of dessert:)!
I highly recommend Barbette for the amazing service (Jeri was very professional and kind), the atmosphere (cozy and beautiful), and the food (SO GOOD)!!!
We are already making plans to bring the rest of the family to Barbette. And now that Hennepin Ave. has reopened, it's so easy to get there!

Love the menu of options!

Yet the flavors and execution were lacking: muscles had a few with sand in them, frites were overcooked and barely warm, the short rib entree was gorgeous but meat was bland, the asparagus and kale were overcooked.

Our server brought us the check without asking if we wanted dessert…which we did. She assumed this “because we left food on the table”

So it’s that kind of place. Not bad, but not great either. Maybe just an off night.
