This place amazed me. I randomly walked by this place. and it smelled so good I turned around and went back for a snack..What a treat! I ordered a housemade chai and a cup of the soup of the day which was butternut squash. Wow, really impressed. Both were delicious. I was surprised the soup even came with 5 pieces of toasted baguette. Super affordable and delightful with great ambience and service. Grateful moments!

I cannot remember the last time I had so much fun! That must have been the fantastic Mussels and Fries, the delicious espresso martini, the fabulous server (CJ), and the best company! :-)

I go here frequently. Probably one of the last places like this around. Truly a beacon in the community.

We had such an amazing dinner here! The ambiance is wonderful, the servers are personable, and we had one of the best meals we’ve had since moving to the cities. We had the steak helene served with the daily vegetable which was rutabaga (and the real star of the show, it was absolutely delicious!), and the roasted chicken breast served with a rich and savory cauliflower and leek gratin. For dessert we had the lemon and thyme crème brûlée, as recommended by our lovely server, and it was to die for. Barbette will be one of our favorite spots for years to come.

Food was good. We ordered a omelette, a sandwich, 2 eggs toast and hash meal. The frites with their aioli was delightful. The service was good and attentive. The scenery of the restaurant was very nice.

Looking for a relaxed and quirky place to eat delicious food and receive amazing service and not break the bank? This place should be one of your next stops. We started with Champagne and Oysters. You can order East and/or West. Also- love that the champagne is served in a wine glass and not a traditional flute...meaning you get more! Woo hoo! Moved onto the main course and I had the root vegetables with poached eggs in an onion broth. All of it was amazing. The eggs were poached perfectly. The veggies were cooked perfectly and the onion broth was so flavorful! Served with a couple pieces of bread so you can sop up every last morsel of it! My mom had the buckwheat crepe with poached eggs and said it was equally as delicious as mine. Flavorful, hearty meal that didn't leave us stuffed. Finished off splitting the chocolate mousse- yum! Service was top notch from the moment we walked in the door. Can't wait to return and try other items on the menu.

Classic Uptown dinner location for us. Happily surprised by how busy the restaurant was. Enjoyed our standard go to options: steak frites and mussels with fries. Good service, but it was a little loud for us. Plenty of street parking.

Barbette was very interesting. The atmosphere and decor were very pleasing. The food was excellent, if not a little out there. I had the wild rice bowl and the flavors were very complex and unlike anything I’ve had before. Really liked it. Reasonably priced as well. Crème brûlée was outrageously good.

We came here for the first time during restaurant week. It's a super cute little place right in uptown. There was plenty of metered street parking. For starters: the smoked duck breast was really good! Very tender and the sweet sauce drizzled around it made it better. The scallops were also a good choice for those seafood lovers. The gremolata was a nice added twist, giving the dish a fresh taste. For entrees we tried the mushroom risotto with braised lamb and the pork tenderloin with a blackberry bourbon jam. The risotto: I wish the rice had a little more flavor to it but with the mushrooms and lamb it was pretty tasty. The pork tenderloin was also a decent choice - the jam was a perfectly sweet and savory sauce that paired well with the pork. The pork was a little over cooked and dry. Service was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We liked the unique menu options here.

Barbette is an excellent place to lounge with friends and enjoy the French bistro ambiance. The space is bursting with charm, and the food and drinks are delightful. I’ve been here for brunch, dinner, and late night drinks - and each experience has been magical. The service is always great too. Love sitting outside under the lights in the summertime.

I was in Minneapolis for a few days and Barbette was recommended. Overall it was quite good. Service was really good, the waitresses and bar staff were all really friendly. A couple things about the food. The beet and arugula salad was very tasty but it was way too much arugula and not enough beets. And the Salmon appeared to be really fresh but it was way overcooked. As mentioned above, overall it was real good, but if I go again I will ask for a few changes.
