This the hippest little sports bar you’ll find in the Twin Cities, right in the heart of Uptown in the former, iconic Shorty & Wags space (if you know, you know). Come for the holy trilogy of bardom: beer, sports & wings. The sports paraphernalia decor is outstanding, with no shortage of nostalgia. Awesome food, the kitchen guy on Monday 10/13 was high energy, kind, and cooked an awesome burger. Good beer served cold. Also, thank God a sports bar where the bartenders actually know how to operate the TVs.
Beckett’s was confusing. The patrons surprised me. I expected a sports bar with typical baseball cap sport’s fans, but Beckett’s crowd was eclectic, representing Uptown’s Bohemian nature.
Although it was a sunny and warm Saturday afternoon in October, Beckett’s was packed, and I found the only empty seat at the bar.
