Billy After Dark (B.A.D)

Shylah was the best! She was so sweet and I loved her service. She made great recommendations and was spot on with her service. Would definitely come back just for her to serve me!!!

I’ve now been here twice, and both times the service was unbelievably bad.

The first time we went, it took 45 minutes just to get our drinks. During that time we were also charged for caviar bumps that we never received. When we asked about them, the server told us the kitchen had already closed, so they couldn’t make them and had to remove them from the bill. Why they were added to the bill in the first place is beyond me.

What really pushed the experience into ridiculous territory was that when our first drinks finally arrived, the server immediately told us it was last call, meaning we waited almost an hour for drinks only to be told we couldn’t order anything else. It felt completely disorganized.

I gave the place a second chance. Somehow it wasn’t any better. It still took 25 minutes just to get drinks, and when the server dropped the check they didn’t say thank you, good night, or acknowledge us at all. Just dropped the bill and walked away.

For a place that’s supposed to be a late-night spot, the service is painfully slow, careless, and frankly rude. There are plenty of better places in Minneapolis to spend your money.

I’ve now been here twice, both times with a reservation, and it just doesn’t live up to the hype everyone gives it. The food is delicious but I’d just recommend just going to the actual restaurant. No matter where you get seated it will feel cramped and you will be really close to your neighbors. The staff was super nice but rarely checked on us, it took an hour to get our first round of drinks BOTH times I’ve been.

Food was amazing! We were seated in the back area behind the bar. It got a little warm and loud as the place filled up. Other than that, great space!

Food and service is definitely a 10/10, atmosphere was very chill, music is late 90's early 2000's vibes. Good for first date night or quick social gathering. This is not your typical dining for full entree if you're expected to feel full. It's built more like quick snack and a couple drinks and let's go Netflix and chill after or go do something after. We had a great time.

Went for my birthday this past week and had a good time. The service was excellent and staff seemed knowledgeable about the menu and were open to questions. They did not shy away from a strong drink and were very accommodating. The food was good, not the best japanese in minneapolis but enough to add a positive note to the overall experience. Just a great atmosphere and the playlist was a huge plus as well.

If I could give B.A.D. six stars, I absolutely would. Located beneath Billy Sushi, B.A.D. offers an exceptional Japanese-inspired speakeasy experience with a stylish, upscale atmosphere. It’s the perfect destination whether you’re stopping in for drinks after Billy Sushi or enjoying a full dinner on its own. The sushi is excellent, the cocktails are outstanding, and the service truly elevates the experience. The staff is warm, attentive, and welcoming, and our bartender, Jack, was exceptionally friendly and incredibly knowledgeable—clearly passionate about his craft. Ideal for date night, reconnecting with friends, business conversations, or any special occasion, B.A.D. delivers on every level.

We went to BAD for a friends birthday last night - a group of 10 of us…. Nya was absolutely amazing. By far one of the best servers I’ve ever had. Thank you for being so wonderful!!

Overall, it's a very romantic place with great drinks. The server forgot to check on refilling the drinks at the table, but other than that, it's a great place and I will be back.

this place has severely degraded in quality over the years. i remember coming to billy in 2023 and having one of the best and memorable dinners of my life. the fare now feels common, and damn near soulless. we've come twice in the last three months once for a birthday and another for new years, really hoping that it wouldn't be as mid as the last time. we were in and out in less than an hour both times. both times felt extremely rushed. our servers were kind which is the bare minimum tbh but that's it. severely over priced for sushi you can find anywhere. the cocktails were the only enjoyable part of the meal. save yourself the time, energy and money by going elsewhere.
