I went in open minded, due to mixed reviews! Had the pretzel- it was so good. A little cold, so next time, I plan on asking for it to be hot. The bratwurst dinner was phenomenal! Not keen on their kraut, but everything else was delicious. The Black Forest cherry cake was so good! The cherries are tart! Our server Gina was phenomenal. They are supporting the community during these horrific times. Can't wait to try them again!
A little bit of Deutschland in the heart of Minnesota. The decor and atmosphere were spot on, although they could have played traditional German music for a truly authentic flair. The service was good although there was only one waitress waiting tables when we arrived. She was very polite. The food was well.... very tasty. I had the Pork Shank and was impressed by the size of the dish. The shank was tender and tasty, the Spaetzle was spot on in my opinion, the gravy while good...
I was excited to have Hungarian goulash with sperzel (a dish I loved when I first had it in Austria). The flavors were good, but both the meat and spetzl were dry.
The lighting in this place is also pretty sterile - the decor makes it feel like it should be cozy, but the bright white overhead lights make it feel awkward (these really should be a warm white, not a cold white). I know this sounds nitpicky, but it really makes a difference in the ambience!
