Me encanta Boludo!!! Deliciosa empanadas. Brought me back childhood memories with mi abuelo argentino. Muchas gracias y volvere pronto!!!
Bad service, mediocre, overpriced, food
This was my second time trying Boludo. The first time was going to the downtown location. I remember being seated in front of dirty dishes and an employee's bike, which is exactly the type of view you want while you eat. We decided to give this location a try because we didn't even try the food last time. I didn't risk dining in and ordered take-out. There is no one to greet you. I was standing there for a solid 5 minutes before I got a hold of anyone. The restaurant was not busy. That is just the type of quality of service I have seen in both occasions. It was extremely loud, bordering on disorienting. After I picked up my food, I touched the bottom of the pizza box, it was cold. Either it was not fresh, or just sitting there for some time.
Now on to the food, the pizza tasted fine. But again, I should not really have to throw it in the oven if I live 5 minutes away from it. The caesar salad was awful with large stalks of lettuce just shoved in there with sprinkles of cheese and two containers of dressing and crumbs. To pay that much money for such mediocre food, hurt my feelings.
Would never go again.

Un chopped whole stalks of lettuce in the Cesar salad? The thinnest pizza with the least amount of sauce 👎🏼
While the service was kind and helpful, the pizzas at Boludo did not suit my palate. The tomato sauce was cloyingly sweet, and I could not eat Boludo's pizza. I enjoyed the crust, but that sauce...... it was almost as if honey was drizzled into the tomato sauce. The empanada fillings were delicious, but I wanted the pastry to be crispier. My taste is unique to me. Others might enjoy Boludo's pizza, but not me. In addition, the music at the 38th Street restaurant was so loud, conversation was rather tricky. I loved Argentina and its beef-oriented cuisine, but not Boludo's pizza.

I ordered the Jamon y queso and espinaca empanadas with a hot honey pepperoni pizza. The jamon y queso was my favorite. I ordered for pickup and my order was ready within 15mins, they were so organized when I arrived. Got my food right away. I drove 20mins home and it tasted just as good as if I had been in the restaurant. So delicious!!! Order from here and you won’t be disappointed!

There was one young man who impressed all of us. He was taking orders bringing out the food, checking in on everyone, promptly making sure everything was fine. This young man was the hardest worker.I have seen in an extremely long time. Cheers to the restaurant for hiring a person who seemed to love his job.

Everything at Boludo was so delicious, fresh, and hot! The cashier was super kind and friendly. He encouraged us to try an empanada, and we ended up loving it. My favorite thing was the Caesar salad, it was loaded with cheese and perfectly covered in dressing, just how I like it. I honestly wanted to take ten more plates home!
The place has such a welcoming vibe, and I noticed posters in the front that made it feel inclusive and kind. Overall, a 10/10 experience. I’m about five hours away, but I’d totally make the drive again just for the food and customer service!

Restaurantji Recommends
We’ve been loyal customers of Boludo for years and have sent countless friends, clients and family their way because we genuinely loved their food and wanted to support them — especially during the pandemic, when we ordered many times and even tipped 100% on some occasions to help keep them going.
That’s why tonight’s experience was such a huge disappointment. We placed a DoorDash order, but our driver arrived only to be told there was no pizza for us — even though it had been paid for. When we called the restaurant to try to sort things out after being told by the driver to do so, they hung up on us. No apology, no explanation, no effort to make things right.
As a fellow business owner, I understand that mistakes happen — but how you handle them is what defines you as a business. Hanging up on loyal customers who have supported you for years or anyone for that matter, is unacceptable. Unfortunately, after this experience, it’s hard to justify continuing to support Boludo or recommending them to others.
I’ve had plenty of good experiences here but most recently I had an issue with a door dash order. The main item that I ordered (the pizza!) was not delivered. The delivery driver told me the box with the empanadas was all they handed her, and I was instructed to call the store. I did that, and instead of handling it professionally the person who answered the phone at boludo hung up on me after I described the issue. I called back and spoke to the same person and was told the missing item was not their problem and I needed to deal with door dash directly. I used to recommend this place to family and friends regularly but cannot picture myself coming back after this rude interaction.

Good pizza
Nice place for pizza and salad, but limited choices and small space to gather as a large group. Our pizzas were very tasty with lots of cheese and arugula and toppings. Our salad was incorrect, we ordered a house salad and they served us a Caesar salad, very lemony, but we were having such a great time with our group that we did not exchange it. Service was all right, but indoor space and street parking is definitely limited.
