Just had an awesome night at Butcher and the boar! Excellent food excellent service super fun waitress with Naseem especially!! Thank you! We’ll definitely be back!
The aesthetic of this place is nice. We went for brunch. I asked for a menu and was informed they were only serving brunch buffet items, despite their website showing other breakfast options. The best things were the two meat selections and rice. The cheesy potatoes were overloaded with butter, the chicken was super dry and flavorless, and the fruit consisted mostly of melon with very few strawberries and pineapple. Service for a buffet was terrible; for the price we paid, one would expect it to be great. We had to eat with dirty plates on a small table.
Did not even have the Butchers Cut had to choose between two inferior cuts that were so chewy they could not cook it medium rare. Don’t have butcher in your name and your GM doesn’t even know how much meat to order on a Tuesday. Kind of a shame. Decent looking venue. Girls knew how upset we were with the limited menu they made sure to be on top of drink orders
Love me a bar with wood panels and a mounted boar’s head. Check out the back room.
We had IAN as our server and he so attentive, thoughtful, and respectful! Since I was graduating college, he got me a great tequila drink! The food was absolutely delicious and really good portions. The best thing we had was the cornbread and tri tip. Yum! Will be back!
The food was great. However, the kitchen was slow. Michael was great managing it, but Dacklyn was the true star the show. He should definitely be a full server.
The atmosphere is very rustic, but the service was subpar ( absent any management checking quality control), contrasting with the high food prices. The meats were good but comparable to other less expensive alternatives. Overall, a nice place to get some meat, but would expect more from the service with the prices.
One of the best restaurants in the North loop.
Beautiful restaurant, we enjoyed taking my wife for the awesome Mother’s Day Brunch today. Impressive food and great ambiance. And the service was an 11/10.
We had a wonderful time celebrating a birthday and mother's day weekend. Ian was so attentive and unobtrusive. Atmosphere was perfect and food delicious! Thank you!

This place got super good reviews and I am in town for business so I went there. It is really not for someone to go alone, most of their food is family style or share style. I did get the blue crab beignets which were good, but I had to eat them straight out of the dish because the bartender did not give me a plate to eat off of which was kind of disappointing for a fancier restaurant. Staff was just kind of cold. It seemed that they were bugged with how slow it was. I'll try this place again when I have a bigger group.
An absolute must-try steakhouse in the city—top-tier professionalism and unforgettable flavours. The ribeye was phenomenal. Would I revisit it? 1000% yes.
To start, we had EXCELLENT service from our server Ricky and other staff in the Char Bar! He made every moment perfect from start to finish. We stumbled upon the last round of the Sunday evening meat raffle and our friend Cece took home the beef long rib. Super fun touch to dinner.
Drinks were all superb, a crowd favorite being the espresso martini served in the cutest mix of eclectic tea cups. The bourbon selection was top notch and well poured.
The charcuterie board and pimento cheese dip were great options for sharing. Don’t skip the blue crab beignets - literally one of the best things I’ve eaten in my lifetime.
We also ordered a few items from the Char Bar menu since we dined in that area. The footlong hotdog was so fun and the Butcher burger was tasty and budget-friendly.
We had one of each dessert and loved them all. The hummingbird cake and flourless chocolate torte was my personal favorites.
Our group had the best food, unparalleled service and a very memorable time. We will definitely be back!
To Ricky and staff - we hope the nerds were to your liking and helped speed up any sidework you had post shift! 😆 Your fellow industry friends appreciate you and all you do to provide great service!
I don't think I've had a better
dinner/restaurant experience!!!!! It was for my 30th birthday! The service was top notch, our server was so informative and professional. I will definitely be back! And the price range was pretty decent. I ordered a pork chop and it was AMAZING in every way!!!! Our server name was RICKY!!! The vibe was great and the atmosphere was amazing! The lights were Dim, Very bougie vibe and sophisticated probably one of the best restaurants in Minnesota!
Grits were incredible, I could have taken a bath in them! Came hungry, left stuffed and with leftovers. Haven't had a waiter like that in a while, Ian, man your knowledge of the dishes and every ingredient in them and your description made me feel like you should do radio work for food, my wife and I were really impressed. Ian, you have a truly unique skill doing what you do, and the Espresso Mezcal Drink was next level. Will definitely be back, and I would strongly recommend requesting his table. Thanks.
