I’m giving this review because caribou can do better. The staff at this location are fantastic, friendly and respectful. While I don’t expect the staff to stand up to ICE agents and refuse service, I do expect the upper management to prioritize their staff’s safety as well as the customers safety. Allowing ICE agents into your locations is a safety hazard and I cannot support a business that doesn’t care about its staff and customer safety. I will no longer be a patron to your establishments.

I arrived at about 11:45am, November 12, 2025.
I was in the neighborhood so decided to purchase coffee beans. Normally, I buy coffee from Target store at East Lake Street, Minneapolis.
It seems that staff and the public was informed that I was going to make a purchase at Caribou at this particular time and date as I recognized the three individuals sitting near me from a drug purchase I made from them year ago. I believe it resulted in my arrest and detainment by Minneapolis Police.
I feel that I am and was followed and called out at Caribou Uptown/Lunds Byerlys Management and Corporate Offices for purposes of a drug investigation and conviction against me by Hennepin County Police / Corrections and their parole department.
I have made staff aware about this issue(s) before and I have not been to this Caribou in more than six months. This is the reason why I do not patronize Caribou Coffee or any coffee restaurant because I feel followed by police officers and their private and public investigators.
I have communicated this issue to Minneapolis Police previously.
I love Caribou and can't get enough of their iced coffees, particularly their cold press. This location in particular is usually pretty quick, and even when there is a line, the team here is usually staffed well and handles the line quickly and efficiently.
The one thing that I wish that Caribou as a chain would do is adopt contactless payment. Not because of COVID-19. Just because it's 2021, and I don't take cash/cards with me anywhere anymore. Nevertheless, that has nothing to do with this location. The team here is fast and friendly!
UPDATE 4/20/21: They either actually listened or more likely had very coincidental timing. They now take contactless payment! :)

Went for my birthday drink ordered a large match latte: unfortunately was really more of a small because of the amount of foam that was in the drink.
The barista was nice maybe just inexperienced. She should have remade the drink

The staff has been very friendly and kind in my experience and I've gotten my drinks pretty quickly but - I just the drinks themselves weren't very good. I know that's a risk with some fast coffee chains, but I felt both times I went for coffee it tasted burnt. I tried the energy drinks today - the blue raspberry was okay, maybe a little sweet/syrupy. I felt the pineapple strawberry lemonade energy just tasted a bit like sparkling water and not much else (a bit contradictory - I know- just in general I felt the ratios may have been off some.) Caribou does seem to have some good deals though in the app so that can be appreciated. Overall not the best, but not the worst. Kinda just mid. I would recommend some of the other drinks besides the coffee. While I only found the energy drinks okay it's leagues above burnt coffee bean.

I love this caribou. It may be little but it is one of the best. (Size doesn’t matter guys!) The workers are all very lovely and kind - I love greeting them in the morning. I love their personal style too - they’re so fashionable & unique!! I can’t say enough great things about this caribou & their employees. I love them, they brighten my day, they’re hard workers and they are so gracious to make my mobile order at the crack of freaking dawn. Love them, love caribou. <3
