Great NYE dinner spot! The vibes were right on, amazing food & drinks also helps. 😉 The grilled shrimp appetizer was one of the best bites we had all year.

Absolutely amazing! The food, service and atmosphere were all fantastic. Then the cherry on top was the music! I will definitely be going back.

We really enjoyed the Beef Tartare, the Martinis, and the specialty cocktail " Do you Remember the Taste of Strawberries" Delicious!!
Everything we had was super tasty, and we shared a few apps and sides around the whole table. We especially enjoyed the brussel sprouts as a side and I shared the tri-tip with my husband. The inside was super nice, and we sat near the fire and smelled all the food cooking! Some of the portions were a little small for the price. Also note- some of the food is a little spicier than others, which isn't always marked on the menu so make sure to ask if you're a wimp like me!
This was our first dining experience at Butcher and the Boar and we will return! The food was superb and the wait staff was attentive with out being obtrusive. We particularly enjoyed Ricky the bartender, what a delightful young man! And he makes the best Negronis we have had in the USA! We loved the vibe at this restaurant!!
The food was terrific! We had fish options for those that did not eat red meat but the steaks were amazing (as was the Mahi Mahi). The sausage appetizer was yummy and I would recommend as it is unique. Beautiful room with lots of cozy places for your party and some beautiful private space. Our server was very attentive and made great recommendations. The lights were flickering quite a bit which was a little distracting. I think there was a short. There is valet parking available which is really convenient -especially if you are there for a business dinner which was why we were in the North Loop. I would recommend.
The flavors were very good, but some of the food wasn't great. The standards need to be higher for every aspect of the experience.
I wanted this to be a stellar review as I've eaten at Butcher in the Boar previously and enjoyed. Unfortunately, they were not well equipped to serve a large party. Our server seemed overwhelmed and essentially disappeared. In the course of the dinner, we were only checked in on once to see if we'd like any further drinks and had to search frequently to be waited on. I'd understand if it was busy, but it wasn't and the bar did not looked back up either. It was unfortunate because it was a celebrating a milestone birthday and bringing together a group of friends. But I would caution bringing any large group here.
Excellent feature cocktails, well crafted in a slightly hidden space.
We got two cocktails apiece among the three of us, all of which were well crafted—a couple weren’t quite my style but I appreciated the craftsmanship. One of my drinks had an excellent bitter/sweet element to it I hadn’t had before.
All the staff were knowledgeable and professional. Nice vibe to the whole place, lighting and seating were solid. It did smell a bit sausagey—but it’s in the back of Butcher & Boar, I’ll take it! Plus, they’re delicious.

Love the food at Butcher & the Boar, but the service missed the mark. We had a later reservation and waited far too long before anyone came to the table. The bartender seemed annoyed but came over to get a drink order, and our server arrived roughly 25 minutes in asking if we'd ordered yet. Great food, disappointing experience.
Restaurantji Recommends
Great food, lots of options whether you're looking for snacks or a full meal. Creative and tasty drinks, fun ambiance and killer playlist. Not to mention the whiskey selection! Bartenders are friendly and full of personality. Will be back.

Server asked if we were under any time constraints. We said no and she was very attentive but also gave us plenty of time to talk without interrupting. Food was awesome.
Went here on my birthday, cheddarwurst sausage was tasty, grits with cheese curds was super rich and delish!
Appetizers and cocktails were our favorite parts of our meal. I do not recommend the cornbread side dish for a party of two. Overwhelmingly big single round cake. Sized for 4 people. The restaurant is beautiful. I asked for a quiet spot when seated and we were taken to a cranberry velvet booth way in back. Super happy about our experience.
The food was amazing. The braised short rib and the Denver steaks were great. From the appetizers to desert nothing disappointed.
