Love the food at Butcher & the Boar, but the service missed the mark. We had a later reservation and waited far too long before anyone came to the table. The bartender seemed annoyed but came over to get a drink order, and our server arrived roughly 25 minutes in asking if we'd ordered yet. Great food, disappointing experience.

Appetizers and cocktails were our favorite parts of our meal. I do not recommend the cornbread side dish for a party of two. Overwhelmingly big single round cake. Sized for 4 people. The restaurant is beautiful. I asked for a quiet spot when seated and we were taken to a cranberry velvet booth way in back. Super happy about our experience.

We were seated in a private room with another party. The other party was way too loud so I asked to move. They could not move us so I walked around until I found the patio and asked the patio to accommodate, which they did. I was surprised that no one offered that to us and I had to figure it out myself. Otherwise the food and drinks are amazing.

We attended the first annual Dinner du Nord event on the Nicollet Mall. The B&B team knocked it out of the park. The beef long rib was perfectly cooked (juicy & yummy) & served family style with fresh cucumber salad & cole slaw for the sides. I wish I had more room for the hummingbird cake! The service was top notch too!
The bar was ok. It has a great atmosphere but our experience was a little inattentive. Not like we need to be babysat, but at least stop by once in a while.

Overall experience was great! The restaurant is gorgeous. I was a little nervous when it seemed like no one was there at 6:30pm, but most started coming in later. The state fair could take up some of the clientele. We had a group of 8 and sat in a beautiful quiet room. Our waitress was great at explaining the portion sizes so we could order appropriately. I will say the brussel sprouts were a non negotiable! Easily my favorite dish of the night. I had the steak salad, medium and it was presented beautifully. I will say it would be nice to know upfront that we couldn't split our check because we're traveling for business and we need single checks to be reimbursed from our institution. Other than that everything was great and would come here again!
