Our experience using Classic Catering for our wedding had some ups and downs but was overall fine.
The food: We had a buffet dinner for our reception, and many of our guests went out of their way to compliment the food.
Day-of service: The staff we interacted with were super friendly, and our day-of coordinator said the catering lead and our late-night staff person were excellent to work with. Unfortunately, there was no water on the head table during dinner, despite us having to pay extra for water & carafes and our wedding party asking for refills several times. My sister wound up having to go refill the carafes herself a couple times during dinner. This wouldn’t have bothered us if it weren’t a service we had to pay extra for on top of the rest of the meal.
The planning process: Our point of contact during the planning process was quick to respond, but communication wasn’t always proactive and was often a bit confusing, requiring me to follow up more than I would have expected to clarify things. They could avoid a LOT of confusion by making the information on their website more clear. For example, the majority of the veggie sides are described as sauteed with butter – but when I asked about dairy-free options for guests with allergies, I was told they don’t actually use butter, but a butter substitute. Because of the dairy and egg allergies in our group, I was assured that all items on the buffet line would have placecards with allergen info, but day-of, that allergen info was missing from some cards. Thankfully, nothing bad happened -- but it could have, if the folks with allergies didn't go out of their way to clarify, which they shouldn't have had to do.
Nothing that was the end of the world, but given the price point of any wedding caterer being so high, I would have expected less stress surrounding our work with them.

Callie was our main contact leading up to the wedding day, and she was so quick to respond to any questions we had during the planning process. They were also very accommodating for guests with food allergies/restrictions, which we are so grateful for! The day of our wedding, everything from Classic was flawless--the buffet was set up perfectly, the food was delicious, and the waitstaff were so incredibly nice and helpful! Throughout the night, we had guests specifically tell us how much they loved the food and that it was some of the best wedding food they've ever had! This is a no-brainer--an easy 5 out of 5 stars!

We wanted family style for our dinner and Classic Catering made this decision so easy - they had all the right equipment, food options, and service to ensure dinner went smoothly. We had compliments all night (and months after) about how much people enjoyed the food and that it was the best wedding food they had had! The bartender was so friendly and considerate, as were all the other staff onsite, and the food is at a great price point. Nothing but great things to say!

Overall we had a pretty good experience with Classic Catering. The food was good and they were accomodating to our needs. We had a holiday party with about 40 people and a bit of a tight budget. This was one of the only caterers I was able to find that was affordable with a buffet attendant. Most other companies increased the cost significantly. The attendant was really helpful and set everything up on her own. As the coordinator I didn't have to worry about much and it allowed me more time to enjoy the party. People really liked the tri-tip steak, garlic mashed potatoes, and broccoli sunflower salad. The vegetable lasagna was also good. I felt like coordination leading up to the event could have been better, there were a few times I was surprised by things in an email a couple days before the event, but nothing overly critical. We would use this company again and I'd recommend it to others.

We were able to pick up the linens ahead of time to set up our reception space. All of our guests said the food was amazing and we agree! Would definitely book with them again for a large event!

Classic catering had GREAT food! They just served for our wedding the other weekend. The only thing we were disappointed about was they never brought (meatballs) the late night snack. I had said we wanted to add that and it was never added. ? other than that it was great!

We are so thankful we had our wedding catered by Classic Catering! We had a hiccup with our intended caterer and Classic Catering was able to come to the rescue last minute. The team was very responsive and asked all the right questions to ensure our guests had the best dining experience possible. We loved that the linens were included in our quote and that we could pick them up ahead of time to set up our reception area. They had a beautiful setup and plenty of staff to keep the food tables fresh and full as well as to ensure our guests were moving through the line efficiently to keep our schedule on track. Our guests kept commenting on how great the food was, we couldn’t agree more!
My son and daughter in law used Classic Catering for their wedding at the Little Log House in Hastings. I cannot say more positive things about these guys. I picked up the linens a few days before the wedding and that was a seamless process. The food at the wedding was so so good. There were LOTS of compliments out how good the food was! We paid for an employee to stay til the end of the reception to bring all of the linens back. Based on our experience, I would use Classic Catering again with zero hesitation. (I’m still thinking about that chicken and those mashed potatoes!)

We knew about Classic Catering from previous weddings and made sure to book them for our own at The 3 Ten Event Venue in Faribault. Throughout the entire process, all of the staff members were kind, communicative, prompt, and overall just wonderful to work with. We heard nothing but positive things from our guests about the food and received so many compliments about the buffet. The food was absolutely delicious as always! I highly recommend Classic Catering for any catering needs!

My husband and I hired Classic Catering for our wedding in the fall of 2021. Planning and all communication surrounding our day was clear and prompt. Emails and phone calls (even regarding the smallest details) were answered immediately. The food was delicious, and I still have friends and family that rave about the selections (for the curious- we ordered pulled pork and tortellini in a pesto cream sauce, baked mashed potatoes, a veggie blend and their amazing house salad). The staff were efficient, polite, and paid careful attention to detail. My family was particularly impressed with how smooth the set up and tear down went and how transparent the team was with their timing and layout. Although I was the point of contact for the day, they went above and beyond to make sure I didn’t feel bothered or overwhelmed by vendors. The sentiment was certainly appreciated, and I would highly recommend using Classic for your wedding or any special occasion. I know I absolutely will.

I will not list all the things that went wrong at our wedding or blame the hard working staff members that tried to make the best of a bad situation. I will simply say that I do not recommend this company and that the management/ownership can not be trusted with your special event. We were given some financial compensation for the problems, but I would gladly give that all back to have had a stress-free wedding.
