This DQ is the quintessential neighborhood ice cream counter. This place is like a neighborhood community center that also happens to have delicious ice cream. Staff are always friendly and casual, when when it is really busy like on weekends when there are events at Powderhorn.
This DQ is perfect and I hope it is just the way it is forever and ever.

This used to be the best Dairy Queen but now it’s just pathetic.
The ice cream is good. But the customer service wasn’t good plus for some reason this location doesn’t accept the Dairy Queen rewards app. Very odd. The cashier said they don’t have scanners. Other than that good ice cream.

Have visited this location a number of times recently, and experience the same problem every time. When ordering a cone, there is a protective paper layer near the bottom that the employee should hold on to when passing the cone to the customer. Without fail, the employee wraps their fingers around the top of the cone which is not protected by the paper and hands it to the customer. In many instances this is after handling cash, which we all know is filthy. This is an obvious health code violation, and management and owners should jump on this straight away. Retraining, counseling, reprimands whatever it takes.
