Popped in in the middle of the week and they were kind and helpful, but only had 2 pie flavors available for slices. We tried one of each - key lime and French silk. Both were pretty good, but not incredible. I would come back to try more flavors if I was in the area, but probably wouldn’t make a special trip

Dave The Pie Guy is a staple of the community. There are many guys that like pie but there is only one pie guy. We couldn’t decide what to try so Dave put together a sampler pie for us of a piece of each kind. The pies are fairly priced and award-winning quality. I can’t wait to return to try breakfast.

Got two pies -- the French silk was wonderful, and I heard nothing but good things about the apple streusel. I'll definitely be buying all pies from here in the future!

I wish there was an option for more than 5 stars. This is an amazing shop. The pie is unbelievably good - so far I’ve tried the banana cream, the pecan, and the French silk and have been impressed every time. There’s lunch food on the menu as well, which looks equally delicious. But the real draw is Dave himself. You won’t find a nicer guy, and in Minnesota - that’s saying something. He routinely gets visits from dogs walking past, and tosses them all a slice of turkey. He chats with you while you sit and eat, and he bustles around the kitchen making magic. This feels like a bakery from a different time, and there’s no cozier feeling I’ve found so far in the Twin Cities than sitting at the bar with a cup of coffee and slice of pie.

First time in Minnesota so it was my first time here. We tried peach and apple streusel. Peach much better. Small quaint setting. Friendly owner/baker. Very talkative. Reasonable prices. True portion size.

The pies are solid, not overly aesthetic, focused on flavor and real ingredients. They come in real glass pie dishes which I appreciate. I found Dave charming and very helpful.Dave and the vibe seems to be polarizing. I had a great experience. I enjoyed the neighborhood mom and pop shop vibe with a chalkboard menu. Dave spends time socializing w customers as much as he does making pies. I liked the laid back energy. HOWEVER if you want a well staffed, hustling cafe or bakery this isn’t it. I didn’t wait long but besides Dave, the staff seems to be teenagers who just help out not experienced servers. Tables sometimes have dirty dishes that need to be cleared. If you want something specific you should order ahead, pie flavors are not guaranteed but I’ve never been disappointed with what was available. This isn’t Bakers Square and that’s kind of the point. If you want a real experience and a real pie this is a fantastic spot. If you want predictable and polished this might not be the spot for you.

Awesome pies! I got slices of both the keylime and the strawberry cheesecake pie, they both were great! He also let me order some specialty pies, that I can no longer find anyplace else, for tomorrow. He was very friendly. I had already eaten lunch before I got there, or I would have tried their soup.

A treasure. Sometimes you want the taste of your childhood and youth. When you do, come to visit Dave. He'll restore you with delightful vegetable soup and a plethora of pie flavors, from French silk to mincemeat to triple berry. Sit back and bask in memories and deliciousness. Bet you can't guess the secret ingredient in the crust! ?

Dave is a neighborhood treasure. And there's more than just pie! Check out my lunch today. He made me this fresh, hot turkey melt on cranberry wild rice bread. Delicious.
