Friendly & welcoming neighborhood bar for listening to local bands and dancing. Would feel comfortable coming alone just to have a beer or even just to dance. Feels very safe here. The crowd is always friendly and spans the age range. There's a great vibe here that brings everyone together.

Parking: There's a lot in the back but I'm not sure who it's for. I park in the street or around the corner. Usually find street parking in the same block.

This bar was always closed when I tried to go on a Monday at 8pm but according to Google it should be open.

A great place to play if you enjoy being scolded and yelled at by the sound guy, ignored by staff, and then having your pay stolen.

Musicians - avoid at all costs.

15 bucks for two beers. When I asked for change the bartender told me she already gave it to me. That’s after paying 5 bucks to get in to hear a bunch of dads cover steely Dan.

I belong to a group that encourages people to support local music and make new friends to go to shows with. I went to the driftwood to meet a few fellow group members and check out the show.
Flyer said show started at 9 pm and was meeting my friends there at 8 for drinks and maybe food (I don't know if they even serve food) . I was a bit early (7:30) so I decided to have a seat outside and wait for my new friends to arrive.
I was holding a Golden ticket card in my hand which was how we were going to recognize each other from the group, kinda like name tags.
The second I sat down on the patio chair I was harassed and kicked out by a tall, big belly, wild haired man. He began to slam me with questions and wouldn't let me get a word in to explain why I was there. He accused me of all sorts of things and being up to no good and said I wasn't welcome there because they had no idea who I was. I found it odd but introduced myself and stretched out my hand for a handshake and he said "I don't touch you people". Said I needed to message them ahead of time for permission if I ever wanted to enter the place. I asked to speak to whoever was in charge but he blocked the door and told me to leave and that he had no time or desire to know who I was or why I was there. I didn't event get to touch the door before this man told me I was unwelcome there. I've NEVER had anything like this happen before. I'm not a white man. I hate to pull the race card out but I seriously have no idea what else would have enraged this man so much from merely the sight of my arrival.

DO NOT BOOK YOUR SHOW HERE!

Larry, the owner, self-proclaimed sound guy, and door man, is AWFUL. He is extremely rude, and disrespectful to the bands, he WILL start your band late and cut your set early! He WILL interrupt your set to turn your amps down! Does he even WANT live music there? Figure it out! I feel so bad for the people that came to see A ROCK BAND try to play music for a willing crowd. I’ve noticed that it’s the younger crowd he gives a harder time.
Apparently he can’t take what he dishes out, I was kicked out for calling out his unacceptable behavior!
So sad, this place has so much potential, that creep needs to be replaced ASAP!
