This place is a hidden gem! These are the best tasting donuts ever. They are always fresh and super soft! Bismarks are filled right in front of you with variety of flavors. Their breakfast options are just as great as their lunch menu. Always fast & friendly service. Food speaks for itself! Enjoy!

Great fresh donuts, the reasons we can’t do the Big Corporate Donuts anymore. But oh. my. god. How did they make the gold standard of apple fritters? Nobody actually likes apple fritters, worst of the pastries… Until you have a Dufner apple fritter. It has no business being so crisp, so soft, just chef kiss perfecto every time.

We've been wanting to try this place for a while, and I'm so glad we finally did. We got 5 different sandwiches all of them amazing. The quality of the bread, meat , and fixings were great quality. Saving the best part for last, is the costumer service. The owner was beyond generous and helpful. We came around 5pm not expecting any donuts to be left, but to our surprise all of our favorites were still available. These are some of the best donuts we've ever had! I highly recommend Dufners Deli to everyone!

Maybe it was due to our coming during their renovations, but the place was filthy inside, and service was really slow. The donuts were fantastic. However, I got a breakfast sandwich, and it was mushy and flavorless. Not top of our list, but I can see us stopping once in a while for a donut.

This is my favorite place to get a sandwich hands down. Between the cost and the value it hits that sweet spot. I always get the hoagie. They said that they get the bread from a local bread shop which I believe because it is awesome. I usually order the hoagie and I asked for the corned beef.Do you also want to add that they have soup. Now anytime I see chicken wild rice on the menu I have to stop and try it. As a minnesotan who loves wild rice this is a staple soup. I always feel you can tell how local a place is when they have this on the menu and can do it justice. This is not lip service when I say they have the best chicken wild rice soup. Back in the day when Grandma's restaurant was around more than just Duluth that was my favorite cup of chicken wild rice. Now I can get it locally and that is amazing. My family would probably argue the donuts are what you really come for And they wouldn't be wrong. The donuts are homemade, although the filling, which is filled to order, is not. Kind of wish it was. Especially with those jelly fillings. That would be amazing homemade. But I also understand the time and effort would be a lot. I've had the bear claw, the donut holes, their yeast donuts, and Long John's. Definitely my favorite local ? donut place. I wouldn't say they are overly decorated, they are all a standard homemade donut done with care. You can even get a box on discount if you go to an app called Too Good to Go.I have ordered of the phone, as there's usually the owner and someone making sandwiches sometimes it can take a little to pick up but he will take orders over the phone. Expect about 30 minutes at least depending on the time of day. I did look at the online ordering but there wasn't any customizing options and I have to have my corned beef in my hoagie so he was able to accommodate over the phone no problem just paid when I got there. As far as the atmosphere goes a few things need tweaking and filled to make it feel more lived in. One part is the ordering line. There's no exit really, you just have to go in and then go back through the way you came. I can get a little bit crowded if there's other people. There's plenty of spaces to sit but it feels like the space is a little empty. It'd be nice to see some local decor or some type of way for it to express itself. But after talking with the owner they have plenty of plans and I'm excited to see what happens.Out of 5 puppers ?:Atmosphere: ???Service: ????? Sandwiches: ?????Donuts ?: ?‍ ?‍ ?‍ ?‍ Value: ????

Dufner's makes KILLER chicken wild rice soup, and the donuts are so soft and perfectly sweet! My only criticism is that the sandwich bread was very big - though despite the extra bread flavor, the turkey sandwich I had was savory, balanced, and satisfying. That, and the bread itself was way better than most sandwich chains.Great soup, great donuts, and great sandwiches with authentic deli meat. Highly recommend!

The chicken wild rice soup is my absolute favorite of all time (their other soups are delicious as well). The donuts are extremely good, some of the best around. Service has always been great - the owners are the ones working. I always take the food to go but it is a no thrills (in a good way) very casual place to grab quality food!

Very good fresh donuts. No frills. Lady behind the counter was nice. Self serve coffee from a dispenser/carafe is not my favorite, but was fine coffee

Tasty breakfast sandwiches, but very under staffed. I asked for cream for my coffee and the cashier/order taker guy said he'd grab some more for me then proceeded to take orders from other people for 10+ minutes. It wasn't until the cook brought me my breakfast sandwich and asking her for cream that I was finally given some. By then my coffee was on the cold side. Don't go there thinking you'll get quick service like McDonalds even though you're just grabbing something simple to go. If you have a lot of free time and patients, and want something that will taste better than a fast food joint, then this is a decent option.

Excellent donuts! Even buying them at the end of the day, they still taste fresh. My go to spot for buying a dozen donuts for the office.
