The owner greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home.Overall, East Village Grill exceeded my expectations in both the culinary department and customer service. I've been coming to this place--on and off--for over a decade now. While the food is delicious, I've noticed that the owner OVERCHARGES customers. This was the case even before the current inflation issues. I will not personally come back here again. But if you want to go, make sure you ask about the prices before placing an order to avoid any surprises. Hopefully, the owner will be more transparent and honest about their transactions in the future.

This place is awful from the moment you walk into the door! There is no place to walk up to and order "To-Go"...It's smells unclean. The bathrooms appear as if they have never been cleaned. There is NO soap or dispenser for soap and NO paper towels. I suppose you don't need paper towels when you can't wash your hands!?I actually ordered fries to go before choosing to use the restroom while I waited for my fries....they hadn't charged me yet. And I'm happy they did not because that is the only positive thing I can say about this place....ONLY because it allowed me to LEAVE without my order!! I would never consume anything that comes from such an "establishment!"How the inspectors have not shut this place down as of yet... I have no idea!!!??!

They don’t like light skinned people and they only let white people, Somalians, and dark skinned people feel comfortable and sit and eat !!! They need to be boycotted and removed

I had the gyro, soft pita bread, soft very seasoned gyro, very tasty. Customer service was good. Waiting at the time was less than a minute. I went during lunch and I will definitely come back again.

The only issue I see like I told them yesterday is the water is not cold and he explained to me it's cuz nobody likes a cold and says nobody orders it that way but I like it cold but people I guess don't like it cold and especially in the winter time I guess couldn't make sense but they still don't agree with that statement otherwise they're really amazing The owners wonderful the food is very delicious I've never had complaints about the food and there's customer services is always above and beyond
Their portion size is getting smaller and the price is skyrocketing high. We order rice with meat. The basically was 2 scoops of rice it was so small not enough for 1 person and they charged us $22 for one plate.

I just moved 2 the neighborhood & went here 3 different occasions. My 1st visit was great. Ordered gyro & fries. Generous portion just $10 bucks. 2nd time I went he charged me $15 for the same gyro & fries.3rd time I went I got the chicken tikka which is 12.99. He charged me $20!!! I almost threw the bag in his face. Haven't been back & I live right over the restaurant.

Ordered a gyro that came with no tzatziki sauce. No lettuce. Literally just meat and tomato. Could of been better. Unorganized and not really great inside. Looks cluttered and unsanitary
