El Jefe Cocina & Bar

My friends and I were together for a girls weekend and El Jefe was the perfect dinner spot. Our server KP went above and beyond with his attentiveness and kindness. Our food and drinks were delicious, and the atmosphere was so much fun. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Minneapolis!

It’s okay, I’d give a 3.5 if I could. Tacos were a bit spendy, but the salsa was good. Quesadilla worth the price, a little too heavy on the cheese.

Not gay friendly. A little on the trash side. The bouncer did not speak and got an attitude like we were suppose to read his mind. No thanks.

I don’t think this establishment is gay friendly. My boyfriend and I waited at the bar for 15 minutes while the bartender helped three guests that got there after us. We were sitting right in front of her. Questioning if I was denied service? We left without ordering. Won’t be returning.

Please do something with the music. We don’t come to a Mexican restaurant to listen to the kind of music that is played here every single time. Vibes are off.

Literally tried so hard to find this place and asked so many people but Nothing. It's like it doesn't exist lol. So we just went to the bar across the street and had an amazing dinner/time. Probably don't waste your time trying to come to EL JEFE COCINA & BAR because you won't find it!

Highly recommend El Jefe! We had their food truck and bar staff come to our annual Summer Party in August and they were amazing! All of the staff was friendly, professional and worked hard. Special shout out to Miguel, the owner, who helped in assisting anywhere he needed to be even changing out our garbage's! The food was amazing, as well as the margaritas! Huge success this year, and a month later people are still raving about those margaritas!

Recommended dishes: Street Tacos

Not authentic tacos, barbacoa tastes like shredded meat with Valentina sauce. Pastor meat tasted horrible. Definitely not a place that’s worth paying 9$ for 2 tacos that are smaller than my palm.

El Jefe... we have now used the food truck for two outdoor events for 100+ attendees and been extremely pleased! The staff is friendly and helpful and the food is tremendous. Huge hit with all of the party goers. We added the bar service this time and really made life easy for everyone. The team at El Jefe delivers a top quality product and we will do it again for sure!!

It's not a bad spot for some tacos and other options, but it's pretty overpriced. The food was tasty and the service was good, but nothing spectacular. Calling this spot "okay" really sums up everything perfectly.

This is a ghost kitchen inside the VFW. We went on a Friday night, it was super busy and packed. We ordered the asada tacos. They were horrible. No seasoning at all. Tasted like they just boiled the meat and threw it on a shell. I would not recommend to anyone for food. Maybe for drinks.

We had El Jefe come to a company event with their food truck. The food and staff were both great! Would definitely recommend!
