Very expensive and unfriendly restaurant. Walked into the bar. There were 4 customers in there, and the bartender was talking to one of them for 5 minutes, never greeting or acknowledging us. So no drinks for us. Went into the restaurant looked at the menu. Basically 4 steak and 1 pork chop meals on menu. And to add mushroom and onions to that $50 dollar steak was another $14. Decided this establishment wasn't for me. If I'm going to spend $100 on a meal, I at least want to feel welcomed.

This place is simply outstanding! Each dish somehow topped the one before it. The flavors are complex and delicious, and we had a very satisfying meal. Fun atmosphere and a great dining experience. Highly recommend!

This place is simply outstanding! Each dish we had somehow topped the one before it. I couldn't have asked for a better dining and food experience. Highly recommend!

Exceptional food and service. A strong menu carried by local chefs and serving staff alike, Erté presents a high class dining experience. Very solid steaks and a wide variety of interesting takes on French cuisine. Friendly staff and great cocktails

We had a fantastic dinner here for Restaurant Week! They had specials for just this week and I think got to try some fun new dishes. Everything was really tasty: crab Oscar, crispy branzino and a sweet potato turnover for me; merguez sliders, short rib tacos and apple spice cake for my hubby. We thought the sliders were good enough to put on the permanent menu! We will definitely be back to try some of the regular menu. The service was very attentive and decor is lovely - art deco and quite chic.

The food was great and so were the drinks. I hope the food and drinks do get slightly better with the new menus coming soon.

I love the ambience & speakeasy feel of this Nordeast gem. Food is incredible( 2nd time as good as the first). & if you're lucky enough to get Sharon as your server, you're blessed! She's worked there for 7 years and can tell you the history of the building as well as doing a great job. Her smile, sense of humor, clear love of her job and positivity just makes a wonderful meal experience even better! I think we'll be back for a third go!PS If you like brussel sprouts- Erte's us the jam‼

I am not one to write reviews, but in this case I was pretty dissatisfied. I have spent years hearing about what a good place this was and was very excited to try it. My friend and I arrived around 5 on Thursday evening.there was maybe two other tables in the whole place. The first awkward thing was about what area in the restaurant fell under the happy hour menu. Second, we ordered some apps and the waiter seemed really unaware of what could be made vegetarian and also what was actually available in the menu as he came back multiple times saying the items we choose were unavailable. Third, the appetizers we did end up ordering took forever to arrive even though we were like the only ones in there. All food we got was so exceedingly bland and underwhelming, then we ordered the lobster uncrustable that could’ve been good but was so unbelievably salty and only copious amount of sauce could make it edible we also got the mushroom pealla which was okay but 100% should not be branded as a pealla. Over all everything was bland, majorly lacking in flavor and super annoyed to be paying 20+ dollars for each dish.

Our bill was $252. Now, I'd be more than happy to pay this price if the food would've been memorable in a good way, but it was the opposite. We had a group of 6 people, and every single plate was terrible. There truly was nothing good about this place except for the company. The fact that they feel confident enough to charge these prices is alarming, but also must be why the place was empty. We only went here because they had availability and now I can see why. Please lower your prices or cook better dishes.

During our stay in Minneapollis for a week we had two dinners at Erté. On both occasions the food was great. Creative, good portions and delicious. The vibe has a low key feel but nice. White tablecloth resturant without the stuffy feel. Highly recommend.

I wish I had been to Erte when it first opened as I heard wonderful things about it. What a huge disappointment. Our server was very nice; that’s about it. We paid $6 for a few slices of a baguette that wasn’t even served warm. The bartender was surly and my cocktail (one I order often) was horrible - I’m pretty sure it was missing an ingredient or two. My steak was cooked into the well-done range while I ordered it medium to medium rare. The menu is SO overpriced. For those prices it would have been nice to have my water glass refilled at least once. And it was NOT busy. There seemed to be no pride of ownership. It was sad.

Years ago I loved Erte and, after a long absence, looked forward to enjoying dinner here with friends before the theater. What a disappointment. The server seemed distracted and brusque like there was other places he wanted to be. I ordered the Duroc pork chop and soup of the day and asked that the soup be served after I finish my salad. They came out together essentially with the explanation that the "chef" had already bowled the soup. The salad was utterly uninspired; a handful of peppery greens like those from CostCo, a little wedge of tomato, and a few wisps or purple onion. Or maybe that's what Maison means. The "Duroc" pork chop lacked the characteristic reddish hue and marbling and was dry, tough, and unseasoned. It was undistinguishable from a common domestic pork chop sourced from Cub. And that's all there was on the plate. Nothing like the one pictured. I paid $16, an unexplained and uncredited upcharge from the advertised $14, for what was billed as a lemon cheesecake with blueberry jam. There was nothing lemony about it and the crust, like chewing on GrapeNuts, was thicker that the "cheesecake". The blueberry "jam" had the appearance and flavor of commercial blueberry pie filling. Topping it all was a blob of whipped cream with marshmallow overtones as if it had been flavored with too much cheap Mexican vanilla. My companions, holders of season theater tickets and more frequent Erte diners, have noticed the drop in quality there last couple visits and are unlikely to revisit. After the theater we explored the neighborhood a bit for other options. Next time, Mayslack's! Likely better cooking and without the pretense and ambitious claims.
