Popped in a Sunday afternoon to grab some coffee and lunch and ended up having a great time. The coffee was definitely worth getting and the food was surprisingly good for a cafe. Breakfast burrito was pretty good and came with some pretty tasty dipping sauces. The breakfast sandwich was great as well. Prices overall were what you’d expect although I’ve seen worse. It was about $40 before tip for two coffees and the breakfast items. Vibes were pretty good but I could definitely see this place getting too busy.

Hands down the absolute best bacon breakfast tacos I've had. The bacon is crispy, the corn grilled which combine excellently with the avocado crema and pepitas and black beans to create a satisfying flavor and texture that is smoky, mouthwatering and fun to eat. I will definitely be returning for more.

A cafe spot in Minneapolis with potential if it weren't' for their incredibly rude staff. Nothing says we are way too cool for you than a counter staff member who is way too impatient to take an order from a mom with two small kids. Sorry, we had kids and that they don’t fit ur business model of shut up, order quick, make my job as easy as possible (we had to clean a table ourselves before sitting down) and leave a big tip. Also, to the point of being a huge inconvenience for their staff, was the act of having a staff member interrupt customers at their table to not so kindly tell them that despite what time is posted on their door and Google Business page, they want to close so get out now (5pm).

I think this place catches a lot of unfair flak from impatient tourists and people just passing through, but I’ve always had excellent coffee and eats here. It’s a great vibe with friendly baristas.

I came in recently and ordered a cappuccino, specifically requesting it in a ceramic cup. When my drink was ready, it was served in a paper cup. I reminded the barista of my request, and instead of a simple apology, I was met with a flippant response: “They’re all cups anyway—ceramic or paper.” Then she poured the drink into a ceramic cup.
This response was dismissive and rude. The experience left me regretting both my purchase and the tip I had left.
There are many coffee shops in NL, and if this one cares about its customers, I strongly recommend employing staff that is more courteous and respectful.

Refused service prior to closing with stated reason as “closing soon”. Was looking for a coffee to go.

Edit: The brass cups have been replaced with plastic ones!! Yay!

I visited on a Saturday morning around 9 am, and it was packed, making it hard to find a table. A large group had taken up many of the chairs and tables, so it’s definitely a lively place on weekends.

I ordered the sweet potato bowl, which was delicious. However, we didn’t get any utensils at first, so we waited a bit until they were brought over. Since it’s so busy, a self-serve area for utensils might be helpful in the future.

The water cups have a brass looking finish that gave the water an unusual metal taste, so I couldn’t drink it at all.

Overall, it’s a fun place, and I’d probably enjoy the food more if I ordered delivery to avoid the weekend crowd.

Fairgrounds is such a fun coffee spot with a great mix of cozy indoor seating and a relaxed outdoor patio. The salted honey cold brew is outstanding, and the breakfast options are just as good — the breakfast bowl with aioli is a standout. They also have cute little items for sale and the coffee passport program, which is a nice touch. Staff is warm and welcoming, making it an easy place to keep coming back to.
