Fantastic location, decent service--odd food.
I split the Moroccan sampler with a friend. We enjoyed the dips but the bread (M’Smen) was very strange. Sort of like pita but doughy, soft and wet on one side, like it wasn't cooked all the way through. I Googled it later and what we had looked nothing like any of the photos that came up. The Matbucha is really spicy, which isn't mentioned on the menu, also when we asked about the dips our waiter didn't mention it.
Our waiter was working 6 tables with 2 people each, so we had to flag him down to order. I would have liked to have gotten dessert but it took so long for our sampler to come out and get his attention that we ran out of time. When we asked for the check he brought the wrong one, which wasted more time.
Our martini's were great, and served in vintage glasses that complemented the atmosphere.
I'll always love this location, regardless of what restaurant is currently occupying it. The original tilework, glass, light-fixtures and bar are worth the trip for anyone who appreciates Art Deco.

This was the best experience I've ever had at a restaurant, the food, the ambience, the vibes, the privacy, very intimate setting...drinks, food and service was second to none!
I came here because I heard they had good cocktails. But I will come back because the food was phenomenal. I only had the lamb cigars but those alone were worth a perfect rating. I don’t even love lamb but they were seriously excellent.

The best thing about this restaurant is the space and decor. Horrible service. Disappointing food and drinks. We ordered several things and only enjoyed two—the Wagyu slider and chickpeas that accompanied the salmon. Everything else was forgettable or prepared poorly. Our two sides of fries were cold and soggy. The waiter said he’d bring fresh ones and we didn’t see him again until we were able to flag him down 30 minutes later to pay and get out. I really wanted to like this place, but trust me: skip it. There are so many more good restaurants downtown.

Sat at the bar, the food was amazing and Travis the bartender is amazing. He made me one of his special old fashions. The best I have ever had. A true old time bartender , great service, great stories and kept us entertained for hours . I highly recommend Fhima’s as well as if you are lucky Travis the Bartender will be there to help you

We came here Tuesday night. Took 35 minutes for a server to come get our waters to us and drinks to us. The place was empty. Don’t understand why it took 35 minutes. Our appetizers came out hot and quick. The lamb cigars were amazing. The spicy sauce for the falafel is the best sauce we’ve ever tried. For entree orders we got the seafood paella, chicken tagine, and lamb shank to share with our group. Everything was delicious. We wanted to get more drinks but our server was nowhere to be found. We ended up skipping on anymore cocktails. We asked for the tab and that took 30 minutes. Don’t understand why service takes FOREVER at a place that’s empty. We will be back only because the food was amazing. Hopefully the owner does something different with server staff.

I always hate leaving bad reviews but I am very frustrated with this establishment. I reached out to them privately with my concerns and never received a response so I am going to post my review here.
I had a 6:00 reservation here on a Friday night, arrived with my date at about 5:55, and we were seated immediately. We told the server shortly after he came to our table that we had tickets for a show downtown at 7:30 so we wanted to be finished by 7:15 at the latest. Anyway, the terrible service started from there. When we were seated we were given food menus but the host apologized and said she did not have drink menus and would be back with those shortly. As soon as the host left, the server arrived and asked if we wanted a drink. We said we did, but were waiting for the drink menu. That was the last we saw of him for over 20 minutes. Shortly thereafter the host came back with drink menus. After about 10 - 15 minutes of trying to get someone's attention to order drinks, a younger man in a white jacket came over with two small glasses of sangria, apologized for the delay, and said a woman would be over immediately to take our drink order. Sure enough, a woman then came over and took that order and apologized for the delay. That was at about 6:15 or so.
For the next 10-15 minutes, we tried to get someone's attention for our food order. Eventually, our server came back at about 6:30 (we were keeping a close eye on the time) and asked if we wanted to place a drink order. We mentioned we ordered drinks 15 minutes earlier but they still hadn't arrived. We reminded him about our timeline with the show so he took our food order (he seemed irritated that we explained that we needed to get things moving) and also asked him to check on our drink orders. We both ordered an entree and we also ordered the small Moroccan sampler to share. Within 2 minutes the appetizer came out giving us hope that things would start moving (and the Moroccan sampler was excellent).
Over the next 15 minutes we asked a couple of different people about our drink order. No luck. Eventually at about 6:45, the woman who took our drink order arrived with the drinks and apologized for forgetting. She also told us that the drinks were on her because of the delay. At that point we were more nervous about getting our food as we needed to leave in about 25-30 minutes.
At about 6:55 our entrees finally arrived. I got the seafood tagine which was good but I was not given a seafood fork which is a problem because there are mussels, clams, and unshelled shrimp in the dish. The only way to eat it was to dive in with my hands which created an awful mess. Anyway, when the server brought the food, I asked for the bill immediately since it was now dine and dash time.
Finally at about 7:05, the server put the bill on the table. I didn't look at it right away as we were scrambling to finish eating. I cleaned up (as I said, it was a mess) and grabbed the bill to pay. I could not get anyone's attention so I ran up to the host stand to pay. On the bill were our two drinks (they got one of the drinks wrong but it was the same price) despite being told that they would be comped. We were also charged for the full Moroccan sampler even though we ordered and received the small order. we were in way too much of a hurry to address those issues so we paid and left.
As I mentioned, I reached out to the owners on their website to discuss these issues and did not even receive the courtesy of a reply. Had they done so, I likely would not have left this review on google. The food was good and the room itself is gorgeous but I could never recommend this place given the service and absolute lack of attention to detail while we were there.

This is my second time here and while the food was ok, the service was subpar both times. I will not be coming back. Both Manny's and Mancini’s have better food at a more reasonable price, and excellent service to boot.
We were celebrating a birthday and one of the waiters made rude comments to our girls for posing and taking pictures against the back wall.
Then he made a big show out of asking if someone else wanted to serve our table. Killed the entire mood. Speaking of mood, our candles were not even lit, while other (completely empty) tables had lit candles (see pictures).
The glass of scotch they brought me was sticky and left a red mess on the table (see picture). What made it even worse, is that this sweet cherry syrup somehow made into my glass of Lagavulin (my usual drink of choice), ruining the scotch. I was going to send it back, but as someone that once worked in the service industry, I just couldn't.
Speaking of alcohol, the cucumber vodka we ordered did not have any vodka in it. They brought us a glass with a whole twig of mint, some cucumber water, and no alcohol. Two more vodka drinks that were served also lacked the alcohol. They were not sent back either. We just used them in place of soft drinks.
I am also not sure why my glass of scotch took over 20 minutes to get to me while mixed drinks were coming at an ok (although still slow) pace.
The only reason I am not giving this one star is because one of the waiters was able to bring me a rare steak done the correct way, which was beyond what I expected after the rest of our experience.
The food was your average steakhouse fare, with a Moroccan twist. Nothing special, just ok. Certainly not worth the price all things considered.

Booked two hours before a show, as recommended on the website. We were seated for at least 30 mins before we saw our server. The host came by to take drink orders during this time, but we had not even received drink menus yet so the order was delayed further. Host said he would be back with bread, which never came (even after we asked about it later) but he did bring a sample of the sangria which was very good. The food was edible, but the quality did not align to the price. We came away from the experience feeling like the service was terrible due to what seemed to be extreme understaffing, and the food was mostly ok but none of us have any interest in returning. I can spend the same amount at Dario or many other fantastic places in the Twin Cities and feel like it's a good value, but Fhima's served us dry, boring paella and mediocre entrees overall. The Mediterranean sampler was fantastic, but other than that I did not feel that it was a good value

OK. We were really dumb. We went here on the last day of our weekend stay. But we should've come on the first day! The lamb Shank and kefka kebabs were excellent. The drinks we had were delicious ( espresso martini and Fhima classic Manhattan). I would come back to Minneapolis just for this restaurant. If you have never had middle eastern food and service, this is a great place to start. If you LOVE middle eastern food, don't miss Fhima. This place is top notch! Beautiful decor too.

Horrible food, even worse service. This place is a perfect example of what a fine dining restaurant should NOT be. I’ll be going to my local Texas Roadhouse before I come here again.

Consistently fantastic. A visit to Fhimas is a must every time I come to town. Their seasonal items always hit the spot. Whether it’s a hot summer day or a frigid winter night, they always get me right. Every decision and every detail is so intentional. The effortless charm of their staff, the way their music selection seamlessly blends eras together, and the flavors I dream about long after I’m finished eating speak volumes to the quality of this restaurant at every level. I cannot emphasize enough how much I love Fhimas.

Fhimas has top notch drinks, food, and staff that never disappoints! The space is versatile and is the perfect place to go for a special night out or just for some drinks and snacks after a Wolves or Vikings game!

Fhima’s MPLS and the Fhima family were born for the restaurant industry. The food, the creative cocktails (get The Telephone from Istanbul!), and the stunning Art Deco décor are always on point — but it’s the staff who truly make the experience special, going out of their way to ensure great service and a great time.
Never had a dull moment with this crew — you can literally taste the century of passion and history in every bite.

Beautiful restaurant, cool menu and cocktail list that sets it apart from the twin cities.
