I had the pleasure of hosting a couple events at Finnegans and the staff was phenomenal! David gave us a tour of the facility both times and he was so funny, interesting, and very engaging for a large tour group! He was very knowledgeable of the history of the creation of beer and compared it to how their product is made today. I love that this is a woman owned company and is so involved in giving back to the community and making a difference. I can’t wait to go to their new location!
Not a bad joint by any means, but it felt a tad bit isolating because of some political organizational rally they had inside at the time we visited. It makes sense because of the location, region, and how MPLS is (I'm from here!) More power to ya, fight for your rights and all that... but it was weird walking into an organized political event at a 'brewery' when most breweries allow you to get away from those things and just be. I could understand why most people were sitting outside.
I recently had the chance to visit Finnegans Brew in downtown Minneapolis before their brewing operations shift over to Fulton's. It was a fantastic stop on my Pub Pass journey!
Finnegans Brew Hall is the epitome of a classic brewpub experience. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere with plenty of seating options for enjoying both your beer and your conversations.
I had the pleasure of trying their Blood Orange Pilsner, and let me tell you, it was an absolute treat!
The citrusy notes were refreshing and well-balanced. I also sampled a few other beers on their menu, and while they were decent, the Blood Orange Pilsner definitely stood out as the highlight.
The service was top-notch--helpful bartenders who were knowledgeable and made sure that my experience was smooth and enjoyable. The beer selection is solid, offering a nice variety to suit different tastes.
Overall, Finnegans Brew is a great spot to unwind and enjoy some quality brews. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking it out before they make their big move. Cheers to great beer and a memorable visit!
This place is super fun. I especially enjoyed the Fearless Lab comedy show that happens at 7:30 on the second Tuesday of the month.
We had a meetup event at Finnegans and it was wonderful! Elise and her team were fantastic, as was the back patio and band. It was a great place to gather!
Great beers, great location, I just wish their hours were better! We’d love to be sitting out back drinking today but they’re closed on Sundays, as well as very early on weeknights.
Excellent beer, varied flavors, attentive and friendly staff
The beer is good, as is the space. The service is routinely terrible with the bartenders putting 0 effort to manage the bar. Best to only come when it's not crowded.
We have always enjoyed the beer and atmosphere, so we held the “cocktail” hour for our wedding in the Brewer’s Den last summer. Great service, flexible and the staff went the extra mile for us throughout the process. Thank you, Finnegans!!
We had an extended stay at the hotel upstairs and found ourselves at Finnegans every night, first out of convenience and quickly because we fell in love! The staff is awesome, the flights are solid AND lots of neighbors hang out there with their well-behaved dogs. A hotel bar with a local canine clientele cannot be beat, especially for weary travelers. We will definitely be back!

Exceptional quality brews, 501 (c), the growlers on friday are an unbeatable price, and the bartender is nice. Didnt try the food so can't comment on that.

Absolutely love this place. We met the taproom manager who was a joy to get to know and we really enjoyed all the beers, especially the barrel aged selections. Darts and shuffle board made the night very fun with our large group and the bartenders were knowledgeable and accommodating! We will be back.
i recently went to finnegans for the first time and i loved it! it's hard to find a brewery in this city that doesn't feel like every other one but this one did. the wide range of activities they have was a super fun way to spend my night. john was a huge part of enjoying my time there. he was so knowledgable, friendly and fun. it's really refreshing to see people who are working somewhere that they seem to be passionate about and i will definitely be going back to get more recommendations from him!
Absolutely love Finnegans! We have been going every week on Wednesdays to enjoy trivia and beers, especially the blood orange pilsner! Both the bartenders, John and Matt, are really knowledgeable and make such great suggestions when we can't make a decision. Highly recommend stopping in on Wednesdays to enjoy a pint and get great service from those two!
