Francis Burger Joint

I order here frequently. My palate may be biased, but I swear if you gave their food to a carnivore, they’d have no idea it’s vegan. No, it’s not healthy, but it sure is delicious. They pay their staff a living wage & tips are built in to the prices. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-04

It was good… but I can’t stand the misleading lingo they have hanging up claiming that they’re a no tipping establishment (which I’m all for), but not only did they up the prices, they AUTOMATICALLY add a 20% tip to your bill…so it’s a “you-don’t-get-to-choose-you-have-to-tip-20%” establishment. I almost never tip less than 20% on principle, but the quality of service was definitely lower since I guess they knew they didn’t have to try that hard Updated from previous review on 2025-12-31

10/10 always delicious. Get the Buffalo fries 🤤 Kind and happy staff, no tvs so you have to actually talk to one another 😉 no tipping because they actually care about their employees and pay them living wages 🎉

A friend of mine introduced me to the Francis Burger Joint and now it is my favorite place to go for a burger. I find myself craving their bean burgers and sometimes swing by to get one to go after I finish my shopping at a nearby co-op. My favorite is probably the Francisco burger made with the bean burger but every burger I have tried has been very good. My husband, who is not a plant based eater, also enjoys the burgers so it is a spot we can go together where I can eat anything on the menu.

Love the vibe, decor, and happy hour. I will definitely go back ;). My friend liked the Francis Cheese Burger, I loved the pickled pineapple on the House Pickle Plate.

Never been here before, didn't know it was vegan but gave it a try. So glad I did, it was fantastic! Daughter got a Juicy Lucy and I got the Garlic Girl both delicious and juicy. Bartender Carlos was so kind and helped us decide what to get. I'll be back for sure.

The food here is excellent. Love that everything on the menu is animal-free. As a vegan, I’ve had plenty of plant-based burgers at restaurants and they’re usually pretty similar. Francis is a step above the rest. Delicious Juicy Lucy (Impossible) burger, crispy fries, and chocolate milkshake. I normally don’t leave reviews on restaurants, but this place is exceptionally good, so I wanted to give them a shout-out:)

The place has decent burgers, alright staff the owner is nice and has a really good concept fun decor and resolved a issue I had quickly and compassionatly. If you are vegan and really want to remember what it's like to have a dinner burger and shake experience this is the spot. I would strongly suggest their house made patty over the impossible meat it is way better tasting!

The food here is phenomenal, and the customer service is nothing short of neighborly: after I picked up my to-go order, they gave my car a jump when the battery couldn't handle the cold. I am delighted to have found a vegan/gf options restaurant that not only allows me to enjoy delicious foods that align with my diet, but also support a spot run by good, helpful, salt-of-the-earth midwestern folks. I will definitely be returning!

5 Stars!! We loved the environment, the staff, owner, food. We were super hungry and looking for the closest burger spot. We didn’t even realize it was vegan until after we ate and were completely shocked at how good it was. The owner was extremely nice and our waitress made our experience even better. Drinks were good and decently strong, definitely worth the money. I had to get an order to take home because I’ve never had a patty melt so good.

Check this place out asap because damn they've got a fine burger and no harm to animals to get it. Better than Matt's or 5-8 with better vibes too
