Everything about this place was a delight! It was a beautiful day so we sat outside on the patio, but the inside has a really nice vibe. The food was delicious, with lots of gluten free and vegan options. I had the oatmeal latte and it was tasty with just the right amount of flavoring that still allowed the espresso to shine through. We were there for breakfast so can't speak to the dinner menu, but the quiche was fantastic!

They also have a free, shaded parking lot.

Been here several times before. There are several locations, and this one on Lyndale is close to lots of retail shops and restaurants. There are plenty of seating options, including patio seating outside, indoor seating by the coffee area, or a more formal sit-down dining area with servers.

Usually there is a line to place an order, but this time it was quiet. To order, they have a large wall-mounted menu board, or hard copy menus you can study at your table. The pastry case on the left as you approach the cashier is filled with croissants, muffins, scones, and other baked goods, with plenty of amazing choices. To the right are the more formal desserts, including cakes, tortes, and tarts.

I ordered a London Fog Tea Latte (little lavender, little vanilla, extra foam). Normally I would get it in a mug, but we had to dash off. The barista did a nice job with steeping the tea and creating the extra foam. Next time we will stay for breakfast.

A very nice place for breakfast, big or small.

Fabulous sandwich and curry veggie soup. Super slow preparation for this meal. We waited 25 minutes and watched people finish meals who had come in after us.

Food and service were fantastic!
However….this place is a health hazard. Many reviewers have mentioned seeing mice run around in the dining room. Well, that’s very true. My group saw multiple mice scurry under nearby tables and underneath the host stand. If that’s how the dining room is, it worries me what the kitchen is like. It seems like every reviewer who has mentioned mice has been told by their server that they will tell the manager, but nothing is being done about this problem.
My group has notified the city health department, so hopefully that helps get this mouse problem resolved or this place shut down until it is resolved.

This is an update from my last review several years ago. Visited for an early lunch and was greeted by Betty, our server. As I often to when at a restaurant, I asked her to order for me. I told her two things usually happen - I get what the cook suggests when asked, or I get what the server usually orders for themselves. Never do I get anything not on the menu. This time, she served me a plain mushroom/cheese/bacon omelet with a side of hashbrowns. Plain, but incredibly delicious. (Bacon makes dirt taste good!) It was excellent. My only complaint is the lack of a ketchup bottle on the table, and my Diet Coke refills were a little slow. I didn't ask what the surprise desert was, but it was almost better then the bacon - 5 or 6 layers of moist cake with a ton of frosting and coconut. Thanks Betty - you were a great server and we had a great time. See pic for the half eaten meal. My partner had the fried chicken - light, crispy and perfectly cooked.

Possibly the best spot for families to get brunch. Scrumptious options for most dietary needs. Cozy yet spacious vibe and the pastries are sublime!

The French Meadow Cafe was a pioneer in organic, farm-to-table dining in the Twin Cities and has been a long beloved mainstay in town. There are two locations in the cities, one in Minneapolis and the other in Saint Paul. We have enjoyed dining at both. We were at the Minneapolis location on Lyndale for breakfast on a busy Sunday morning. Lively atmosphere inside. We did not have to wait too long for a table and service was okay. Everything was freshly prepared and tasted great. I really enjoyed my Breakfast Quesadilla.
