Loved the curry!! The drunken udon was good too. Vegan and non vegans were happy with the meal and atmosphere.

This might be my new favorite restaurant in the twin cities. Everything was incredible, and the staff were amazing at helping pick some unique options. I love that it’s a place where you’re meant to order several things to share, and there is nothing I wouldn’t order again!

Amazing food. On my most recent visit we loved the basil wings, beef laab, cucumber salad, beef pad see ew. All were outstanding! Go with someone who will share and ideally go with a small group because eating family style is essential to have the mix of foods and flavors that make the experience. Also don’t miss the outstanding cocktails.

So expensive, loud, meal came when dessert was served and food wasn’t impressive.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I was pretty let down by this place. The food was way too sweet and salty across the board. I wouldn’t come back based on this experience.

Best food I've had in my foodie-centric trip to Minneapolis. Basil wings are a must, but it was all fantastic.

We had the best meal here. I’m vegan and they had tons of options for me, the curry was my favorite. We went on a triple date so we could group order a bunch of food (and so my carnivore husband had people to share with)! Everything was fantastic. They said the chicken skewers were their least favorite but they are super well known for their wings. 10/10 atmosphere was great and so were the cocktails, a little loud for conversation.

Cari was a PHENOMENAL server - attentive, friendly, and fun. We had a lovely meal, made even better by Cari.

The food was also fabulous, perfect for vegetarians and a great option for sharing dishes with a group. Absolutely will return!

We had an amazing time at Gai Noi and Cari took care of us spectacularly! The food was amazing, came quickly and tasted fantastic. We also sampled several mocktails and the Guava Mule was so good. Every dish was a hit. I especially loved the fried walleye and the tofu laab, and the pickled veggie side! Was a perfect dinner with friends.

I go to Gai Noi all the time and am never disappointed. Great service and food, plus the cocktails are amazing.

We ordered two appetizers, two entrees, cocktails, and desserts. With everything we ordered we explicitly asked “and this is vegan, correct?” I was served yellow curry with chicken. Updated from previous review on 2025-04-02

Food is a 8/10 for me. They do charge a 18% service fee here which I saw no one mention so I just wanted to include that for whoever. I’ve never had a place charge a service fee unless it’s a party of 5-6+ people. It was only me and my ONE friend so I was shocked to see the “service fee”. I’m just gonna assume that’s for tips which is still kinda crazy because tips are earned. Unless she just decided to tip herself because she thought we wouldn’t leave her anything.
A month later, I decided to give this place a try again but instead I picked up my food to avoid the unnecessary charges. The portions here are incredibly small. I paid $16 for this?? (Check photo)

Beautiful restaurant with welcoming staff. The basil fried rice tasted delicious and other dishes were also amazing. I wish they didn’t pre batch their cocktails, but other than that I had a great experience and can’t wait to go back. Something about those Lao flavors that is magical. Also, bonus points for having a lot of LGBTQ+ employees.

We went for late brunch and sitting upstairs in the atrium is a must. Perfectly fresh atmosphere. Meals are family style and you might be sitting with others at a table. The cocktail menu is delightful. The watermelon dill was my favorite. We had the fishing cooked in a banana leaf. It was a lightly herby and definitely order sticky rice. The papaya salad is less spicy than I am accustomed too but probably spicy for Minnesotans. This is a no tipping establishment and no reservations. Paid lot right next door. It was a hot day but I absolutely need to come back for the kao poon!

We went there 4 Mondays in a row after dance lessons next door. This is my favorite restaurant. Must try panang spaghetti, wings, and calamari. So incredible. The vibes upstairs are amazing, too! Going through Gai Noi withdrawals and coming back asap! Also service was great every time!
