Glad I finally stopped by this lovely, airy café for lunch! It feels like a museum café but far more relaxed and reasonably priced. I loved my vegetable tacos, made with grilled wild mushrooms, zucchini, and onion, and served with a really good homemade salsa. The coffee was also very good and slightly smoky (chicory?) The crafts gift store and art gallery in the building are a welcome plus! I want to bring guests from out of town here.

I've been hesitant to leave this review, because I love the message and purpose of Gatherings. Eventually I decided that as a chef, I would want to know. So here it goes...
We were a group of 3. Our order was a quiche, turkey melt, and bison tacos.
The quiche and turkey melt were insanely good. My kid is a picky eater, but she devoured the sandwich and my wife loved her quiche. The tacos on the other hand were inedible.
They were greasy, stringy, and the flavor was incredibly foul. I've had bison plenty of times. Cooked with it and served it in restaurants I've worked in in the past, and these tacos are by far the worst I've ever had.
Maybe it was the tarragon they chopped up for the topping (I have a feeling they meant to use cilantro). I couldn't put my finger on it. Just completely unpalatable. I'm planning on going back to support an important cultural landmark in the cities, but I'll never order those tacos again.
Also, the museum closed 2hrs early. The time posted on the doors and online isn't accurate.

Absolutely fantastic food, friendly and helpful staff, and overall a wonderful place to enjoy lunch. I had the three sisters kale salad with bison meat. My husband had the fish sandwich along with the potato salad and some bakery items. All were very tasty! We can't wait to come back to try the breakfast menu!
The Gatherings Cafe catering is exceptional! We rented out a space within the Minneapolis American Indian Center and had catering directly from Gatherings. I cannot tell you how many of our guests commented about how amazing the food was! Staff was 11/10 and the presentation of the food again, was perfect. Thank you Gatherings Cafe staff for your amazing service!
The food was extraordinaire delicious.
My mom and I first time coming here for breakfast/ lunch I have found my spot to come eat for breakfast 😊💯 they have multiple delicious meals especially for bison😍 yummy! Love it.

This has become my favorite spot on Franklin to get breakfast! The Minneapolis American Indian Center renovation is beautiful and this cafe makes it extra special. They have a wonderful selection of HEALTHY food and drinks. 10/10 would recommend. Support Native Businesses!!!
Foods great, service is terrible. I came here for lunch and never got my food. 1 of 2 people in the entire place. Never again.
As a Southside urban Native, it's so refreshing to have a place and food I can relate to. The new space is beautiful and the staff are wonderful.
Such good food and open space here! Lots of seating and natural light, absolutely loved my breakfast burrito and their French toast. ☺️ Very reasonably priced, too!
This is a perfect lunch stop! My veggie melt was very flavorful, the service was great and the cafe itself is very clean and serene.
