In all honesty, I could have made this meal at home. I had the beat fettuccine that came with sausage and mushrooms. It barely had any sausage in the dish. I also ordered the whipped goat cheese which as not fluffy at all. They served it with four cracker like pieces of focaccia that were harder than croutons. There was a jam in the middle that overpowered the goat cheese. When I complained about the bread, and asked for a regular order of focaccia, I was charged for the bread even though I clearly didn’t eat what was given. The server cleared it for me. Lastly, the server barely checked on us and I had to ask for the bill to be split. There was an additional $10 charge for hospitality on my bill. Overall I spent $80+ on food and drinks I could have made for $10 at home. In this economy and uncertain times, save your money. Definitely not worth it.

Beautiful ambience! This place is located in the premises of Emery Hotel. I got the Bianco pizza here - although the crust was a bit crunchier than I expected, ricotta cheese and garlic sauce gave it an exotic flavor. I also tried the Mora mocktail which had a sweet and lemony taste

We went for Valentine’s Day. They had a multi course tasting menu with two options for each course. We ordered cocktails at the beginning. We didn’t receive the cocktails until the 4th course. The food was not hot, or even warm. The veal was cooked perfectly but was cold and needed salt. Atmosphere was beautiful. Server was nice but not around enough.

Went here for a work outing since we work downtown. Wait staff very friendly and check in often. The food was good and proportioned good was not oversized which is nice. Sometimes it's just to much.
Price is inline with other Italian restaurants.
Really cool atmosphere and is in the old wells fargo building. Fun to look around.
Worth checking out if your in the area and want some good Italian cuisine and a view too.

My spouse and I had a reservation for the valentines menu. It was our first time and we love tasting menu experiences. We recognize it was a holiday weekend so knew it would probably be busy but figured that at the $90/pp price point, it would be a descent experience regardless. Well, it was memorable…as one of the worst restaurant experiences we’ve ever had! It was so terrible we couldn’t help but laugh our way through the meal. The server was kind, and the space was beautiful but those were the only redeeming qualities.

The courses came out quickly…so quickly we would be half way done with one before the next was on the table. We asked the server to slow down, but the only thing that slowed was the wine pairing - twice the glasses came out after the food itself. And for an additional $45pp the four half glasses were not anything special or particularly paired well with the food.

And the food…the first course of meat and cheeses were fine, but the grilled focaccia was cold and doughy. I would say the salad course was of cheap banquet quality - soggy, wilted, and over dressed. The pasta course came out lukewarm and tasted undercooked. The espresso agnolotti was bitter due to poorly treated hazelnuts and the filling was gritty. The presentation was hilarious to us - it looked like poop! The gnocchi-inspired dish tasted like a brick of frozen spinach with chunks of bacon. Both were almost inedible. The veal was good, and the only dish we agreed was presentable, but the risotto was undercooked, dry, and tasteless. The portions of lobster were appreciated but the lobster itself was rubbery. Finally, the dessert - the orange pana cotta tasted like perfume and the cannoli looked amazing but the cookie was not fresh and the filling tasted like canned frosting. In hindsight we should have opted for the regular menu, but now seriously trust the judgement of anyone firing the dishes out of that kitchen.

I attended a Galentines dinner and I was not impressed with their set course. The meats and cheese plate was probably the best tasting next to the salad but the main entree and dessert weren’t up to par. The drinks were tasty and I’d possibly go back for those.

The food was not that great. The meatballs were lukewarm warm and the chickens parm was mild in favor and noodles 🤢 and as far as customer service I give it 2.5 stars the GM Jackie was very nice when polite about our complaints about the food. Thank you Jackie!!

I put off my review due to travel. But I celebrated my 41st birthday here with friends and the service was horrible. Jonathan the bartender was amazing. But that was it. My friends arrived earlier than the RSVP of 8:15. I got there at 8:03. I was told the table in the bar area right smack in the entrance was my table. I went to the bar where my friends were already having drinks and noticed a same table but off to the side. I asked could we have that table instead, the hostess said it was fine. At 8:15 we were going to the table when we realized Jonathan is our waiter as well. We order our dishes. I look at the table I had at first and noticed it’s set for dinner (napkins dinner settings glasses etc) we hand nothing. I made the reservation a few weeks in advance and stayed it was a birthday dinner. Our meals came out with no silverware, napkins, glasses. We had glasses of water that were on one end of the table that’s it. The manager was one of the people bringing out the food and I brought this to her attention. She deflected the responsibility to my group by saying “we” requested to be at the bar. I asked her is my first table not the bar area? She said yes but still had no excuse for why the difference in how they were set. She kept saying I had you a table but I thought you requested to be at the bar. No one requested that. She disappears. I think maybe another manager comes and apologize but still insults me by asking what can I do for you. As if I wanted something FREE. All I wanted was the same treatment as your other guests. The food was amazing but the service and lack of accountability may hinder my return or recommendation to others. I didn’t take pictures with my friends at the table, as it looked as if we were at Applebees.

We were staying at the hotel and ate at the restaurant with family (5 adults and 1 child). When we asked about the kids menu, the waitress told us that the restaurant could make buttered noodles, spaghetti and meatballs, etc. Fast forward to the end of the meal when we were charged $25 for a kids buttered noodles! When I asked the waitress about the charge, she told me that she didn't make the prices. If that's the case, I would have appreciated a warning when we asked about the kids menu! The waitress also made the executive decision to double our appetizer order without telling us, which added $60+ to our bill. For a restaurant attached to a large hotel, I would expect it to be a bit more family friendly.

Kid-friendliness: This restaurant is not kid-friendly.

We waited 15-20 minutes for a table even though we had reservations. It took 30 minutes to get a drink. My husband asked to a tall glass ice water 3 times and just gave him a short glass with ice. Food was okay. Service was not good. We had to hunt down our waiter for our bill bc our 2 hour parking was going to expire. When the bill came they had a 20% service charge. My husband questioned it since MN changed their law about it and the waiter got super defensive and said it was published in multiple places. Overall not a great experience. We will not recommend.

We called ahead to schedule a 2 PM lunch for two and arrived at 2:01 PM, only to be told, 'Sorry, lunch is over.' When we asked them to check with the manager, the response was, 'They'd rather not honor your request.' Disappointed and left feeling unwelcome. Won't be back

I went to Giulia for the first time with my friends for dinner. The server never checked on us and we had to waive him down for more drinks and for other services. Additionally, he failed to mention that adding Grey Goose to a N/A drink would be $18, resulting in a charge of $29 for a single drink. After my visit, I checked my bank statement and realized I was overcharged. I requested a copy of the bill to be sent to my email (which took almost a week to get) and saw that the server added $10 to the tip I gave him. I notified the manager of the concerns I had regarding my experience and the tip amount, and all they did was refund me $10. The only apology they gave was “I am sorry to hear there was an issue during your visit.” I was never notified when the $10 was refunded to me, either; I just happened to see it in my checking acct. I spent almost $100 for a caesar salad w/ shrimp and 2 drinks. Very poor management and service for a higher end restaurant.

Nice experience at Giulia, nestled on the lower level of Emery Hotel, formerly Hotel Minneapolis. Very open and modern floorplan with easy view of the preparation area. Limited menu but still with enough options for all diners. Started off with an Olive Tapenade appetizer which was very good. However, if you don't like the extremely salty flavor this probably wouldn't be for you! For entrees my guest had the Ribollita soup which he thoroughly enjoyed. Taste was good and definitely an ample portion. I had a fantastic Tomahawk pork chop which was cooked to perfection with a nice sear on the outside and moist and flavorful inside. However, my feeling is you are short changed a bit with the carrots and potatoes that come with the chop. Way too few in my estimation. They were prepared well but, again, for the price point of $45 should get more veggies. For dessert we shared the Almond cake which was loaded with tasty apples and a whipped cream border. So, outside of the lack of vegetables complimenting the pork chop the rest of the experience was very positive and I would recommend if in downtown Minneapolis .

Parking: Being in downtown Minneapolis parking spaces, especially during weekdays, is difficult. Weekends are a bit better with either on the street or parking ramps within walking distance.

Sat at the bar for dinner and drinks. Service was piss poor, the bartender didn't even tell me her name. I ordered a drink, and was served something completely different because it was "close to something on the menu". At $30 a plate and $16+ a cocktail when I order a drink, I expect the right ingredients. The worst part was the argument the bartender gave. We are often told that "The customer is always right"... The end of that quote is "in matters of taste"...

The individual next to me literally had to ask for a menu, and then later ask them to take their order. It was not busy, the tables were not filled, and there was clearly plenty of staff.

I received one glass of water, and had to insert myself for every drink I ordered.

Fresh pasta was good, not great,... All in all I would give this place a miss.
