Whiskey was fantastic, and I didn't think it was overpriced, as many have claimed. It's the same at any other whiskey or scotch bar, and Gori even allows you to do half pours, which is very nice. Aside from straight whiskey, the Old Fashion was one of the best I've had, very unique and balanced. They do add an extra 20% charge, but they didn't even give us the option of tipping, so that's your tip. Environment is very small but wonderful. I would live there if I were rich.

Stopped by for two drinks after dining at Kado no Mise. The dimly lit bar has minimal decor but that matters little.I ordered the old fashioned to start which intriguingly has fig in it. First of all, the cocktail is beautiful. The ice stamp that is used gives it a signature feel. I truly enjoyed this drink. The second drink I had featured cognac which is not a liquor I often consume but I was intrigued by the koji. The ice stamp used in this cocktail was also beautiful.

I've been wanting to come to Gori Gori Peku for so long and I was not disappointed!Came on a Saturday evening around 6:30 before dinner at Kado No Mise. It was pretty busy, but there was room for us at the bar. We both ordered the old fashioned and it was so delicious and perfectly crafted. The blend of whiskeys were so good.I'll definitely be back to try some of their Japanese whiskeys.

Walked in, sat down. Looked at the whisky menu. Some very high end Japanese whisky, but for the regular whiskies I.e. Nikka from the barrel, charging $60USD, which given a whole bottle is $75 is extortion! I don’t mind a significant markup for bar prices, but this is a joke!Barman also refused to let me look at the bottle properly. No matter how well you shape a piece of ice (per other reviews) this is just a stop to rip off people who don’t know what they are buying!

We were excited to try this place as we are fans of Japanese whisky. The bar is cool, dark, quiet. The service was fine, nothing amazing nothing bad. The cocktails were ok, wished they had flights of whiskey or easier way to try several kinds. Extremely expensive for the experience.

Expensive whiskey, not so glamourous digs. Imagine getting a few soft lights for your living room and also put a bar in your living room. Also light up a little incense. Thats this place. I want to have my expensive whiskey in a swanky joint. The server was very nice and knowledgeable though.

Fantastic atmosphere, good drink selection, relaxing music, and gorgeous bar. This is definitely worth a stop and the bar seating only has room for about 8-10 (but there are a few additional bar tables in the same space!) so it ends up feeling very intimate and low key. I don’t know enough about Japanese Whiskey or Sake but everything we drank was lovely.

What an amazing gem in the heart of Minneapolis, for, Japanese Whiskey lovers of course! My husband is a huge fan and when we found this hidden gem, we just had to check it out.Located on the second floor of a brick building, this tiny speakeasy bar/lounge is a must to visit when in town.An extravagant menu, with imported spirits and a decent array of alternatives for those not looking for something non alcoholic or on a different beverage scope. Cayden was an epic bartender who shared his insights throughout our visit, and put on quite the show. Amazing service! We will be back, and you should most definitely pay this spot a visit as well! Cheers to hidden gems Yelpers xx

My friend and I arrived a little early for our reservation at Sanjusan and were told we could head upstairs for a drink at their Japanese whiskey bar - which turned out to be Gori Gori Peku! I had a glass of sparkling sake, and my friend had their Kado Old Fashioned. She loves an Old Fashioned, but she said this Old Fashioned from Gori Gori Peku might be the best version she all weekend in Minneapolis. My sake was great, too. (They offer cocktails, mocktails, sake, wine, whiskeys, and more!) The service was good, and this tiny Japanese whiskey bar has great ambiance. Overall, it was a great spot to have a drink before dinner!

Great Japanese bar with a lovely and attentive bartender. Omotenashi at it’s best. I had a great evening here. Negroni and Collins cocktail we’re perfectly balanced.

I went here for the first time to celebrate Lunar new year with a friend and will have to say that I loved the environment. There's a good amount of options to select from and the bartenders definitely know what to recommend based on your palate. It is quite pricy and definitely agree that you would want to come here with a party of 3 or less since there isn't much room. But if you are interested in trying Japanese whiskey without buying a whole bottle, this is a good place to check out.

Incredibly impressed with Gori Gori Peku bar. My friend and I had gone as a way to finish off the night after a wonderful omakase dinner at Kado No Mise. I ordered an old fashioned (pictured) and it was delicious. Loved the engraved ice cube and especially loved the whiskey selection that was available.
