I went to Gorkha Palace with my 3 adult grandkids. I normally don't review until I've been to a place 2 or 3 times, but it was fabulous. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. We all like Indian food but we are not experts. They have a large menu and he spent time answering questions and making recommendations. We shared everything. Started with the combo momo with 2 each veggie, chicken, and bison dumplings. Wonderful. I may make a meal out of them. Then golgappe. A very light crispy shell into which you spoon potatoes, a sauce and tomato chutney. The presentation was beautiful. I should have taken a photo. The main courses were excellent as well. We had 1 veggie, 1 lamb, and 1 chicken stew type dish. They all were in flavorful sauces. We also had the clay oven chicken Tikka. I highly recommend that dish. We asked for medium spice on all the items and it was just right. The naan was some of the best I've had. I wanted a mango milk shake. I loved them when I was in India 50 years ago. But I can't drink milk now. My granddaughter gave me a taste of hers and it was just like I remembered. We were there on New Year's day. It was moderately busy and had lots of parking. An all around memorable meal. We will return.

Parking: Parking is close but it is shared with other businesses during the day. Plenty of parking after 6.

In the realm of Non formal, reliable Indian food, this place is delicious!

If you’re just trying to find your standard Indian fair, and aren’t sure which place to pick among the dozens located around town, you can’t go wrong with this place. It’s clean, delicious, and exactly what you’d expect. No surprises.

The food is STELLAR. I had Pindi Chana, spice level 3. 3 can be slightly warm/hot in some restaurants. This was proper hot. Loved it. I'm hoping they're in the middle of redecorating the restaurant. The walls were all white with very white/cool lighting. The restaurant used to have such a warm inviting feel. Currently, it feels like they're either in the middle of redecorating or going for a modern/clean look that comes off as cold/blank. The staff were all wonderful and the food was fantastic. Highly recommend!

Excellent food. Great service. Super location. Very clean and comfortable restaurant. We dined in, but I saw a steady to go traffic as well.
As everyone before me has said. The Momos are great. I also got the vegetable korma, which was wonderful. It’s very rare that you say oh wow the rice is good as well too. Super flavorful rice and just the right amount.
I like to order more spicy food and this was perfectly done. Just the right amount that you could really feel the impact but not be put off by it. Right on that fine line of spicy, but not too much.
And then I gotta couple of breads as well.
Potato potato bread naan and another, which I can’t remember the name of it right now.
Highly recommended. Excellent food and a great variety as well. Lots to choose from on the menu. Super Service.

Vegetarian options: Everything seemed homemade.

Parking: Good bus route accessibility as well. And new cycle track outside also also. The cycling options are improving greatly in Minneapolis.

Kid-friendliness: Plenty of room and great tables for groups or family. I think it’s critical to take kids to a variety of places is more than just chicken fingers. My kid chose this place last night

Wheelchair accessibility: Actually, a very well-made ramp out front for wheelchair accessibility. It was completely cleared when we were visited. No snow.

Amazing and delicious food! I wish they would clearly label their vegan options but the staff were helpful in letting us know which dishes were or could be made vegan.

With the change in ownership this year. I am sad to report this is no longer the restaurant I previously loved and ranked as one of my favorites. At first the food seemed to carry over. The transition is apparent now though. My usual order of chicken choyla with medium spice was enough to sometimes give me the hiccups from the spice level. Tonight there was *zero* spice evident. None of it had the same level of quality and flavor. And it took 25 more minutes past my stated pickup time to deliver that. The interior has been downgraded to a harsh bright space with zero charm or comfort, even just for someone waiting for an overdue order. I’m really sad to lose this place. Like a previous reviewer, I wish they had to change the name with the change in ownership.

THE best Indian restaurant in Minnesota! I have tried a lot of Indian places here but none come even close to Gorkha Palace. Even their spice level is on point. When they say Extra Spicy they mean it - it is proper Indian level spicy unlike a lot of places. Every dish I have tried here be it either dinin in or take out is so delicious, you crave more. The customer service is also very good. 100/10 recommended.

Yummy food, seems fresh and free of additives; however, portions are small and price is very expensive: ~$50 for two dishes, takeout. We weren't even given two rice containers, only one.

This is not the old Gorkha Palace with high quality, great tasting food that my family and I loved. The food we had delivered was not the high quality that we had enjoyed for years.

We enjoyed a date here last week. The food was really flavorful with lots of options, from the typical to Indian street food. The service was excellent with clear excitement and passion about the food that was being served. He gave us a handful of recommendations for future dining! He said that after taking over the restaurant 4-5 months ago, they've aimed to make the menu authentic, and I noticed that the food did have fuller flavor with bits of whole spices and pods, and was also spicier in the hot sense (I'm going for mild or mild+ next time!) This is our new favorite Indian restaurant! Thank you for preparing such delicious food!
