Blown away and think this is an under-the-radar gem compared to all the fanfare other North Loop places seem to get. Service (Denisse) was wonderful with confident recs and a healthy POV, lacking in much service these days. The food quality was great. Table favorites included the boudin, jerk chicken, and the daily chowder. But everything was very nice—a bit spendy, but well earned.

We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of some friends. They told us to try the mussels but they no longer had them on the menu, so we decided to try something different from tapas. We wanted to ask for recommendations from William our server, who by the way was very friendly and efficient. He recommended meat on sticks and meat empanadas for starters, we ordered ceviche and Patagonian shrimp which were delicious but would be better if they removed their skin. For main courses we decided on grilled chicken mahi mahi, jerk chicken and pork chop which I think looked more like a chop, but it was delicious. It should be noted that there is very little food for children so if you have little ones I do not recommend it. They have good food, good atmosphere and good music, I will definitely come back..!!!

Pork belly and shrimp were a tad over cooked for my liking. However the flavors were really good.

Food is amazing (if expensive), but you honestly lost me at “Guacaya adds a 9% service charge to all guests checks…this charge is not a gratuity for employees.”It’s your responsibility to provide direct compensation to your employees, not the customers’.

Unfortunately had a really terrible experience here tonight. Had my car towed from their parking due to really unclear signage. When I inquired with staff and specifically owner Pedro, they said this happens “all the time” and that although the spots are reserved for their management (not customers) they don’t own the parking and the place that does monitors it by camera and calls in the tows. Seems like clearly if they have this issue all the time, they need to correct the signage. Our server (Denise) was really fantastic and was very understanding and sympathetic, but I did not get that from the owner. Also when asked why they wouldn’t ask guests if it was their vehicle before towing they stated “it’s been really busy for them and the tow company lately”. Yeah I’m sure it has. Wouldn’t recommend anyone go here. $250 and no sympathy, it’s unfortunate. All opinions are my own.

Went here for a double date weeknight dinner. Ambience is nice, service is nice and if you are going after 6.30-7, I highly recommend doing reservations. We were early by 5pm and it was pretty empty.Their happy hour is between 5-6.30 pm which worked great for us. Although not too many options on their HH menu.Between the 4 of us we ordered empanadas, patagonian red eyed shrimp (which wasn’t descaled so we had to send it back and they were very cool about it), jerk chicken rissoto, tajadas (sweet plantains), and truffle yuca fries.Everything was tasty but we did find it to be overpriced. Moreover, one of us opted out of the pork from our entree but till got charged the full price. Many places I have been to minus the meat charge but they didn’t, which was disappointing.I wouldn’t recommend this place if you are vegan or vegetarian. They don’t have a lot for you except for the sides. They have an option in the appetizer tacos but they were out of cauliflower.

Overall, the food was amazing both in presentation and flavor. We had the patacones rellenos, yuca, maiz, and salmon. The service was mediocre. We sat at our table for a long time before the waiter finally noticed we were there.
