This little place warmed my heart and filled my belly with true food on a very cold day in Minneapolis. All my taste sensors were deliciously attended to. The owner and/ or manager welcomed me at the door with a smile. The authenticity of this type of human interaction with the staff is seldom nowadays.

Super great vibes and yummy food! Would recommend ordering “extra” of whatever pancake inclusion you’re getting, since the edges didn’t have many chocolate chips. The wait was ~20min to be seated but definitely worth it.

Charming neighborhood breakfast & lunch joint, kinda like a hipster Denny’s. Hot Plate has a kitschy atmosphere that feels like it was decorated by raiding the living rooms of a hundred Caucasian, Midwest grandma living rooms back in 1978.
