My deceased grandfather's favorite takeout. I love to go now and then for old times sake, bland but filling. Tasty if you like "American Chinese food" This is old school takeout Chinese. The stuff American servicemen back from the war made a staple for so many families from the 50s through the 80s. I'm nearly 60 and I went there with my grandfather as a child. The guy who founded it still ran it then. The food is hot and filling and the portions are big! Which is nice. The only drawbacks are NO CREDIT CARDS or electronic payment of any kind, they do take checks, but when is the last time you saw a checkbook? The other is they need an option for some more seasoning. They assume like most places that Minnesotan "Chow Mein" customers like traditional Midwestern blandness. I know they can make spicier food, but I don't know how to ask. They don't speak much English, and I'd like to find a way to say "Its wonderful, but please more seasoning in the chow mein"

This place is the definition of "hole in the wall" and absolutely delicious! Egg rolls are tasty & not greasy at ALL, egg foo young is some of the best I've had and the pork fried rice was SO good. Definitely authentic - highly recommend!!

I thought I would help this restaurant because they do not have a website. The only pictures you can see are from other customers so I took pictures of all of our food. We were very happy with the choices and we both felt like it was really good flavors on each different entrée.We got the chicken lo mein, the beef with mix vegetables, the pork egg foo young, and the pork fried rice. Two appetizers, the steam dumplings, and the eggrolls. My favorites were the steam dumplings with the excellent sauce , the white meat chicken lo mein, and the pork egg foo young. The sauce was authentic and have great flavor. The eggrolls are kind of boring and taste so like any other restaurant, but I was happy with the large servings and prices were amazing. They really should have a website with current prices and menu but even though we didn’t know the prices, it was a super great value when we got the total at the pick up.Would recommend!!Parking: I would for sure get this again. Hope the pictures help

Great restaurant! But whoever runs this Google page is a real... Special character. Left-handed sun of a gun! Great at flipping houses though. Somewhat of a slum lord. ;)

One of those hole in the wall places that are easy to pass by...Don't! Delicious, and generous portions, with a friendly proprietor that makes you feel welcome. Don't expect ambiance, but you will walk away satisfied, and eager for your next visit. Prices are also very reasonable for the incredibly generous portions.. stop by today for lunch or dinner.

I have to agree with the reviews mentioning the strange taste of the cooking oil. I thought the food was decent, but the taste it left in my mouth for about 12 hours after wasn’t great.Unfortunately, they only accept cash or check and seem to change their pricing at a whim. I paid $2.80 for soup one week (same price listed on their website), the next week they told me it would be $4.61 for the same size…? Maybe I’m missing something, but thought it was strange.

Love this place. Been a few years since I've been here because I moved away. Made a special trip and it's still wonderful. The dumplings, chicken fried wonton, and the beef Cantonese chow mein are so delicious. Oh how I've missed you.

First time there. The beef sub gum chow mein was a five, but the oil used to cook the egg roll and the shrimp appetizers sadly tasted a bit rancid. Perhaps I caught them at an off time. They had a steady stream of customers. It is a new business, and maybe they are just getting their feet wet. I could hear the woks clamoring in the kitchen so I know the items are cooked fresh.

I’ve been ordering from here for years today not good at all. I don’t know if it was in a hurry since they had a lot of traffic that day from workers that was there eating in the area. Very salty. I couldn’t even eat it.
