Slow service, food was not temped. Close quarters and a bit cramped. I liked my server, but there was a lot going on that contributed to a depressing mood after my meal.

Mediocre. Menu wasn’t terribly Italian, and the pasta dishes we tried were uninspired and flat. Major miss on the super-sweet roasted squash side - tasted more like a dessert than a veg side. On the plus side, atmosphere was nice and service was great.

We did the four course for $50. The portions were good and the food was excellent! We had a great experience.
Our waiter, Max; was exceptional. Max was very helpful, polite, and so friendly. The food was also spectacular & I already can't wait to go back with my girlfriend.
We decided to stop by IE on a busy Saturday night without a reservation to celebrate my birthday. As a huge fan of authentic Italian cuisine, this place quickly became one of my favorites in the metro! From the kind hospitality, quick service, perfectly sized dishes, to unique choices across the entire menu from start to finish - it was all exceptional. A place to go that feels like family. Thank you for making our spontaneous, last minute dinner a celebration to remember.
Ps. Get the Chocolate Torte 🤌

Had my two year anniversary here with my girlfriend and we both really enjoyed the experience. The lighting is dim and it wasn't super noisy which is something me and her appreciated a lot!
A very nice early Sunday evening dinner. 2 of us had the coursed menu for 50.00 per person which was a great deal. The third in our party share our app and salad and ordered a separate entree. Great service, knowledgeable about the food and beverage menus. Nice ambiance for a cold Sunday night
The mussels were delicious. Amazing sauce to sop up with bread. Good steak. Our waitress was just short of unfriendly but the rest of the staff were great.
Great to done here again. Travail delivers top notch food and service.

Lovely place and all around affordable for what it is. Not all their tables are created equal.

Exquisite house-made prosciutto, perfect pastas, and well-cooked mains. Wonderful, unhurried service and great vibe. A must-go in the Twin Cities!
All of the food was incredible. Our group couldn't pick a favorite - loved the pork chop, sweet corn agnolotti, ricotta cavatelli, trottole, and grilled zucchini. Our server did an excellent job both advising us and staging our dishes.
We are so happy that IE is back and as great as ever. We were able to sit outside on the beautiful fall day, everything was delicious and our service was amazing. A spontaneous birthday celebration for our son, who flew in that day!
All food selections were delightfully filled with creative combinations and use of fresh ingredients that aren't necessarily common.
The salads were fresh with inviting textures and flavor combinations that were healthy and tasteful.
Good variety of main courses everything that was ordered was met with satisfaction.
Be prepared for tolerating high decibels in the overflow dining room.

Overall we enjoyed our dinner. Cafe was quite crowded and service was slow. Seemed under staffed to me Our waitress had two rows of tables to cover, and all were full. She was flying all over. So it may not have been her fault. She was friendly, kind and helpful. We had reservations, were seated promptly, but had a long wait for staff to appear. And, waited quite awhile (10 min, maybe) for wine to come. Other than slow service, food was good and waitress was good, when she had time to get to us. Have never had this slow of service before, and we have visited many times.
