Amazing concept for dining!! We ate at in a community style at this restaurant which was different for us. We got seated at a table that was like a picnic table with strangers and it was fun. We met new people and tried some new food as well. It was perfect timing because the ladies we met were actually living in the unit above the restaurant and gave us some pointers on the menu.

The food was not good. Waiters did not smile or acknowledge that it was my friend's birthday, but they gave us extra plates for the cake. We put on the reservation that we were celebrating my friend's birthday that night. I also saw one of the cooks reach onto a freshly served plate and put a piece of food in her mouth. The food is for the customer, not the cook. Eating food and stealing from a customer's plate is not okay. This cook was looking around to see if anyone was looking at her before she snuck food into her mouth. She was not tasting it. She was enjoying a piece of it.

Excellent food. Service syper prompt. Ambience is great. The only minor problem was that music was just a touch too loud. Erin was excellent server.

Chef Ann Kim’s restaurant is a culinary gem that masterfully elevates traditional Korean dishes to a new level, combining bold, authentic flavors with modern, artistic presentations. Her award-winning expertise shines through in every dish, with a menu that celebrates the richness of Korean cuisine while offering innovative twists that surprise and delight. The ambiance of the restaurant is equally impressive, featuring a sleek, modern decor that complements the vibrant food. The food is good, reminds me of my mom's. Does paying for kimchi and rice feel a little silly? Yes, but so does paying $15 for ramen and $20 tapas plates at other places. It is good Korean food in a really nice setting. That doesn't exist anywhere else in the Twin Cities. Sure there are more traditional Korean restaurant experiences, but frankly the food at Kim's is much better.

Great food and service. Super loud atmosphere.
Eating alone I was sat at a group table with foul speaking and disrespectful men. Will never eat there again if I am at a group table
The food is way overpriced for how basic it is. I was expecting reimagined Korean dishes but you could get this for half price, and better taste and quality, at any other Korean restaurant. (I say this as a Korean American.)
The service was also poor — not well coordinated, slow, meandering, clumsy. The waiter spent 10 minutes mansplaining Korean dishes to us without letting us get a word in to tell him we didn’t need him to over explain everything. And then he made weird comments throughout our meal.
The drinks were disappointing and the tiramisu was dry and flavorless. Really disappointed.
Additionally, the ambience was nice but they squeezed 6 of us into a booth fit for 4, even though I made a Resy global dining access reservation weeks in advance. And in the restroom, there is no vacant/occupied visibility on the gender neutral single stalls so everyone was pulling on everyone else’s doors.
Overall a very disappointing experience. Kim’s as a concept/restaurant felt lazy and not well executed. You’re better off going to a mom and pop Korean restaurant, or to Kim’s owner’s other restaurant Young Joni.

As a Korean-American, I do not recommend this place. We ended up in the neighborhood early so arrived 1 hour + before our reservation. While the place was nearly empty, the hostess made a grumpy comment about us being early and would not seat us at a window booth, even though one remained empty the entire time and others were able to move to the booth from other tables. They make you pay for banchan (small side dishes that would always come out free at Korean restaurants) and rice which you would never pay for at a Korean restaurant. The rice was dry and the bulgogi was not very tender. The chicken wings and cured salmon bowl were pretty good though. I would say the food was almost a 3/5 but for the high price it was closer to a 2.
I’d recommend Kimchi Tofu House, Sole Cafe, and Mirror of Korea in the cities over this place.

I think you really need reservations for Kim's as it filled up rather quickly after 6 PM. Great for business but, it gets loud quickly. I actually turned my hearing aids down. We started out with a deep fried minced pork inside a wonton. It was quite good! We then had a multi mushroom bowl over rice with a great sauce that was quite rich. We almost stopped there but we ordered a raw salmon mixed with avocado, radish, cucumber and ? over barley. It was good....not fantastic but edible. On the back page of the menu, in small print, it says basically they add a 21% charge to offset tipping. Trouble for me is that they charge it also on the tax which I think is crappy! I can understand the 21% on the meal but not then tax that as well. I may go back but, I'm not going to rush back.
Excellent food, flavor, and service.

Yummy!
The food was really good overall. I do not like having a set amount of time for your meal. It’s a total vibe killer and 1.5 hrs is not enough time for a part of 4

The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the staffs made us felt welcome. Our server, Jen, was wonderful and friendly. The Korean Fried Chicken, and Shrimp & Vegetable Pancake were well prepared and tasted great with the accompanied sauce (I skipped the ranch as it is not my thing). The banchan could have been more flavored. Our friends thoroughly enjoyed the Stone Bowl Bibimbap and Spicy Sakura Pork Bulgogi. My wife digged her Beef Bulgogi and my Kimchi Jjigae Hotpot could be spicer, however it was tasty. We capped the dinner by sharing a carrot cake. All in all, it was a very nice evening out celebrated our friend's belated BD and also their belated Anniversary. Thanks for the great memory.
