Yet another pathetic impression of Japanese food. Zero attention to detail -- they can't even get rice right let alone anything else on the menu. Imitation slop.

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

This is the second time I’ve gone to this restaurant and gotten food poisoning afterwards. I know for a fact it was from the tempura bar, because I’ve been here quite a few times and the only times I’ve thrown up afterwards have been from the tempura bar. The meat is ALWAYS room temperature, I don’t think the heat lamps even work.

The crazy thing? I think I’ll probably still go back and just avoid the tempura bar. I really love their udon and it’s the only place in town I’ve found that does good udon. So, I may be fooled a third time. Let’s see!

Really solid and comforting Japanese food. Good options, I typically get udon and mix and match with the tempura. Instant classic.

Stopped in for lunch. It was a bit busy, but the service was fast and great.

I got the curry udon with poached egg, ebi katsu, and shrimp shumai. All were super tasty! I’ll be back!

Really tasty Udon. The service took us a time to get used to, but it does work really well.

Minneapolis is lucky to have this place! Wonderful food, great vibes, makes me feel like on vacation in Japan in the best way possible.

This place is delicious, fun and affordable! I really like how customizable your meal is with their buffet style sides. Perfect place to go when you need a comforting bowl of soup.

As a Japanese person who is born and raised in Japan, this restaurant is the most authentic Japanese restaurant in Minnesota. Since I started to live in Minnesota, I had struggled to find good Japanese restaurants that satisfy my tongue. However, this restaurant really changed my life in Minnesota. The food, service, atmosphere, everything is amazing and perfect here. The price is really affordable for broke international students like me. Location is also very good.
I deeply appreciate this restaurant. Without Kinzo udon, I couldn’t survive in Minnesota.

Obsessed with the choices for udon here. Awesome spot

Food is quite good, generally no wait time except for a few items (you'll be waiting for 10 minutes at the most).

I tried the Hokkaido Cream Udon with Shrimp, very filling and hits the spot, great flavor coming from the mushrooms and onions.

The taiyaki is also incredible!

Really interesting set up. Place your order for udon or donburi and you hand it to the kitchen. Then you pick up a tray and can add yakitori, takoyaki, sushi, karaage etc. then the cashier rings it up.
Udon was delicious, lots of beef; takoyaki was really good as was the taiyaki. Really authentic 10/10
