Introvert heaven! Ordering is done through kiosks, you can grab your sides at home, cashier is polite! All the staff are quiet, and the cafeteria style serving of sides means you can see entirely into the kitchen. Basically you can verify the cleanliness of where food is prepped at a glance, and it is VERY clean! I have tried 3 udons so far, but my favorite is the dashi with beef sliced in. Broth is not too salty, and let's the noodles shine. If you are shy and love Japanese food, give this place a try!!

A cozy place with tender, flavorful food. I loved every bite! You place your order using the tablets, print your selection, and hand it to the staff, who prepare everything according to your instructions. You can add items like shrimp, teryaki chicken or whatever you like to your tray as they prepare your order. The watermelon juice is amazing, and the bone broth soup is wonderfully calming makes it perfect for warming up on cold winter days.

This has become my favorite noodle place in this area. A bowl of noodles with nothing addedcis about $8 after tax, landing it in the few places you can get a meal for under 10 these days. Sides are offered in a price per piece model, such as 1.65 for a shrimp tempura or 2.65 for a thing of chicken karage.

Son and I had lunch here a few days ago. I had beef bone broth udon. Broth was delicious. Udon noodles were also very good. Son had the tonkotsu. Loved the options of adding more or less options in udon orders. Also the sauce station was very nice and had many options which allowed us to create a more seasoned soup, if desired.

The extra options like ebi tempura was tasty as well as the shrimp cake and takoyatsu (sp?). We were not fans of the gyoza. Tasted like it was done in an air fryer- stale.

Also the atmosphere here is very small and can feel overwhelming. Tight, cramped. Tables were sticky as well and not wiped down well. To be fair we went during lunch so it was busier than usual.

Do get the watermelon juice. Amazing.

Price adds up quickly with extra options so beware.

Tried this place back in May 2025. Good portion size. Broth was way too salty for my palate, so I had to add a bunch of water in for it to taste good. Everything else was perfectly cooked.

I loved my dashi broth udon! The noodles were excellent and I could tell they were fresh. Great broth flavor that overwhelmed the beef, so I'll try a different combination next time. The egg was a good addition, making the bites with yolk creamy and rich. The fried sides were also wonderfully crispy and tasty, though they were only warm. I came at an odd time, so I understand, but I can only imagine how much better the shrimp tempura and chikuwa would be if they were hot. Cozy atmosphere with cute paper lanterns. Good value and nice that a person can get whatever suits them! Service is very fast, to the point where I spent more time looking at the menu than waiting for my food!

Update: Karaage chicken is absolutely killer! It outshone the tonkatsu udon and shrimp shumai, which were both good, but the chicken was moist and flavorful beyond belief. I now know what the hype is about!

Update 2: The calamari and creamy udon are also stellar! Calamari is crunchy and light, making it a perfect appetizer. The creamy udon was also well worth the short wait. The lemon provided for the shrimp gave the creamy sauce that extra level to really take the cake. The fish eggs were also great, adding plenty of smoky umami and saltiness. I finished with taiyaki and it was wonderful. Crisp shell and gooey middle with a nice sweetness.

So glad for this addition to the U's food scene. The udon is hot and tasty and I especially love all the various small dishes they have. The tempura is good as are the gyoza and tofu.

I love the selections of food like buffet style pick-up. This place is near university so it’s definitely calming and relaxing after a long day of studies to come here. I would come back to try their other menu items for sure.

I've had a very positive experience with Kinzō Udon, both dining in and ordering for takeout. This is a great spot for anyone looking for delicious, authentic Japanese noodles in a quick and easy-to-use setting.

The atmosphere and self-service concept are really nice. The restaurant has a modern, clean design, and the digital kiosks make ordering fast and simple. I was very impressed with the flavor of the noodles and the quality of the ingredients.

I was also happy with my takeout order. The packaging was excellent—very stable and sturdy. It's clear they put a lot of thought into making sure the food travels well.

I’ve been trying something new with each visit, and I plan to keep coming back to try more of the menu. I would definitely recommend Kinzō Udon to others.

Order on kiosks, receive the udon bowl and then pick up the fried items if desired. Pay and find your own seating.

The curry udon/curry rice is really good. Fried items are a hit or miss depending on how long they’ve been sitting there, but the fresh ones are really good. Will return.

Really good udon restaurant. I got the dashi broth with a poached egg and shrimp tempura. You order at a kiosk and then pick out extra sides and pay after. They have iced water, chilli oil, spicy mayo, etc and you need to put away your own dishes. Well maintained restaurant and amazing food! 🍜
