Pros and cons of this property.
I hate to leave a bad review but I’ve just had multiple issues since moving in.
I had a co-signer for my apartment as you have to have 2.5 or 3x the income which is normal for most places around the metro. My problem is, upon asking for an extra key fob so that my grandma can let my animals out while I’m out of town, they want $150 for an extra set of keys AND she has to pay to do a criminal background check. I totally understand the background check but I already paid $60 for her application fee as my co-signer. Over $100 in financial and background checks? That’s a little crazy IMO. The $60 application fee should include both - especially since if I were to somehow not pay rent, they would take money from her account but not give an extra key?
I also was told when I moved into my studio that I would be told if a one bedroom happened to open up because they’ll let you move units once within the building. I’ve lived here since June and I still haven’t had anyone reach out about possible one bedrooms within my price range. I’m constantly checking the page and having to bug leasing agents about it. My studio is very tiny for the price. It also has a bathroom with no ceiling fan so the coating on the walls will have residue if you don’t leave the bathroom door wide open while showering. This was a huge reason I even signed a lease here because I wanted to be able to have a garage space through the winter and a bigger unit. I just needed to get into an apartment because I was moving states in 2 weeks. Parking spots are also $195 on top of rent/utilities. They don’t even cost that much downtown.
Internet is shared within the whole building. The flat rate of utilities is great but when your internet doesn’t work much, it’s bothersome. You have to call the internet company yourself and pay extra if you feel like it’s not fast enough. I live alone in a studio and only use my tv for internet and it’s pretty slow.
The grounds are pretty clean around the properties and the buildings do get cleaned weekly. My floor however usually smells of garbage. I wish they would put some sort of air purifiers in the hallways like my old apartment had.
The rooftop is beautiful. That I will say is one thing that makes living here worthy of the price.

I would just recommend to do your research on all apartments in the area before choosing. I wouldn’t have signed a lease here if I had known all of these issues in advance.

Living in this apartment made me swear off living in apartments for the rest of my life.

I lived in the Julia for a year and I can say it was a great experience all around. From location, amenities, and friendly staff, I highly recommend this property for your next move!

All I need and more! This apartment fits my lifestyle well. Packages safely delivered to my door by management, underground parking with EV charging, and great location. Management and maintenance are very friendly, and way better than my past experiences. I was even able to get immediate help the day after Thanksgiving. The apartment layout is very functional, and amenities are great! So far, so good with my experience here!

Moving into The Reeve Lakeside has been a very positive experience. The tour could not have been more professional and information - any questions I had in person were answered, and any questions I had over email were answered promptly. They fully prep you prior to moving day so that you know what to expect and it helps make it a smooth, easy, and fast process. Since living there, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

Seems like a nice enough place when I’m delivering packages. Amazing though how nuts many people are to pay 1200 bucks a month for essentially a closet sized apartment.

The Julia is a well kept building in a happening neighborhood. Management is not great, though. They are ridiculously strict. No painting. No hanging our own stuff. You can’t end your lease any time besides the last day of the month. They’re NEVER in the office, despite the rent being high enough to call the building “luxury”. I’ve had better customer service in college apartments. They try to tell you not to use a humidifier, month-to-month rent is LITERALLY double normal, they just overall are petty and clearly only in it for the money.

At one point, a car hit our building at 5am and started a fire. Management was unreachable and never showed up, despite residents being outside for 3 hours… they own buildings next door and we were all just outside in Minnesota winter until the city kindly sent us a bus to wait in.

Can’t say I recommend this company or any of their other buildings! Try Weidner, they’re way more reasonable.

A fire occurred right outside my apartment three weeks into my lease. The firemen had to destroy my window to help contain the blaze. This happened in early October. I'm writing this review right before Christmas and the window has still not been repaired. With the freezing temperatures outside, there is a terrible draft that makes sitting in half the living room unbearable. When asked to help compensate for this lack of livability through adjusting my rent, the management said it's not their fault. I would not recommend this building or this management team.

I absolutely love my new apartment at the Julia. The space is designed smart so there is maximum room for storage. We were able to fit a desk in the bed room with a queen sized bed so my partner and I can both work from home at the same time. The staff is responsive and friendly, and even bring your packages directly to your apartment door I am very happy with my decision to move here.

Wonderful and attentive staff. Location is great. I would recommend the Julia to anyone looking for a quality apartment in Northeast Minneapolis.
